Great potential, poor execution

I bought this 3 days ago and was very excited to put it to work. Set up wasn’t too bad but OMG! It’s always banging into walls and pausing because it’s “sensing a cliff”… except I live in a 2br apt. WHAT CLIFF???? I’m constantly having to supervise it which is a chore in Itself.

Cleans well. Didn’t last long.

I have had this for less than a year and it threw an error code related to the sensor being off. Tried everything that was suggested without success. I was also never able to connect it through the app, not the end of the world, but would have been nice to use the feature. When it did work, it picked up well. It was very random in the way that it cleaned though. I figured it would be in a more zig zag type pattern, but it was very random. Not terrible, but missed several spots throughout the house. It would never return to the base on its own either.

Efficient unit

I have had this Shark for about a month. It replaced one I had before. This unit is very efficient and I am very happy with it.

Don't buy the Shark ION robot vacuum

I bought the Shark ION robot vacuum and I think it is terrible. It runs into my baseboards and scratches my walls. I thought it would come with an app like my last one, so I could program it. It does not. I had a previous one that I liked. I wished I sent this one back. I do not like it.

Don’t buy

Trash! Bought mine and 24 months later it’s dead. Shark tells me the replacement part is $290 but they’re going to give it to me for free then they cancel the free part and tell me I need a whole new unit. Writing bad reviews until they fix this

Not so great features

I love the convenience of robot vacuum, but this one is not great. I didn’t know until after my purchase that this is the first series, meaning it doesn’t have the map feature and it does bump into everything - per customer service. For those reasons I cannot give this a five star review. $174 is too much for such a thing.

Dust bin issues

It ran great for a couple of months. Now it tells me that the dust bin is not closed. It just stops in the middle of the floor. Sometimes it will restart right away. Sometimes it is hours. I have spent all weekend trying to vacuum the floors and it is only down 30%.

Great features

We love our Shark robot vac. We run it 3 times a week to help keep the dust and pollen levels in our house low. An it works like a charm. The suction it has great suction and this updated version runs over area rugs, and on wall to wall carpet easily. The claw-like side brushes work well in getting to the bits embedded in teh carpet fibers. We also like how it backs in the docking station for an easy next start.

Very disappointed.

I bought this product new in the original box from a large retail/home improvement store. Within 2 months a 2 days it threw an error to the app and told me to call customer service. The battery only reads zero% now and shows totally discharged, however this is not the case. I called customer service. I was asked for a great many numbers and details, then forced to turn control of my phone and camera over for them to see the machine. When it began to act up, we were suddenly disconnected. Never thought I'd say this...but avoid SHARK. Go with a more reliable product or at least one that the manufacturer stands behind.

Good for daily use/ long lasting

Bought this years ago and it still works. Doesn't reach the edges and corners but it helps to maintain the floors clean until my weekly deep clean/mop

Don't expect anything from this piece

This robot sux @ suckling. It absolutely does not do a even half way decent job.

Doesn’t work

Worthless garbage. The first one was a Christmas present. In the next 3 months it actually cleaned a total of 5 times. It keeps disconnecting from the Wi-Fi network and you can’t fix it without calling tech support. It stopped in the middle of cleanings and said it was done. We finally fussed enough that they sent a new one. That one won’t even start, either by schedule or manually. Save yourself the frustration and buy a rock. You’ll get the same cleaning value.
