Eliminates the necessity to to remove the hard water stains.
These filters are actually better than the one that can with the humidifier, It doesn't drip when I take out to add water.

item arrived with a homedepot.com return label. when i opened the box it smelled of mold or mildew and the item had rust near the spring indicating it was exposed to moisture. definitely not using in an ultrasonic humidifier. where was quality control?
Worthwhile purchase if you live in an area with hard water.
They are working real well & I can see the particles that are filtered out of the water.

We used these in the Air Innovations Humidifiers. The filters that came with the devices left a thick white powder on everything in sight. These - while still having some powder,- have worked just great! A definite improvement!

They did not reduce or prevent the white dust from my humidifier, so I returned them.

Despite having a soft water treatment installed in our home, our local water is so hard that it's a constant battle dealing with soap scum, white dust, etc. But at least this filter works a lot better in keeping white dust down then the standard filter that came with the the humidifier.
Difficult finding the correct size filter
This item is not a universal fit.
