Very powerful machine, not the quietest I have used but not unbearable. It goes through 4 layers of denim without hesitation. I found it also goes through the plastic foot wedge without hesitation also after misaligning it!
A bit disappointed
Basically I use a sewing machine for amending clothes, e.g. sewing hems, adjusting length of pants and shirts. I don't use it frequently for crafts or sewing projects. My old Brother sewing machine broke after 10 years, so I decided to try Singer as this is another brand I saw lots of good reviews online. This machine has basically all the features I had on my Brother machine. But I would really wish it would come with a written manual so I don't have to download it online to make sure I'm using it correctly. Besides this, I do have a few comments on this machine comparing to my old Brother sewing machine.
It is really relaxing to sew something for myself. I only use the Singer sewing machine occasionally but I have never been disappointed. Even though I only stick to basic patterns, it does everything very well, the stitches are beautiful and neat. The machine is strong and the force is very even. The sound is also not disturbing to everyone, ensuring my concentration on sewing. Especially the machine is not too heavy and has a neat size unlike many other sewing machines. Sewing brings me so much joy, and my Singer machine is the perfect companion.
Beautiful Machine
I was borrowing a previous older machine from a family member. This machine doesn’t even compare to that one lol. It’s a good weight and with a handle too! My favorite features are the built in thread cutter, you can see the bobbin(and easily change it ), change the position of the needle without taking it out, when you are refilling a bobbin the needle doesn’t move like many older machines, and the fact that you can sew sleeves so easily, and it has storage. There are so many more wonderful features, but those are the main ones I can remember. This beautiful thing is staying with me forever.
[Rewarded Review] Nice Machine with Foot Pedal Troubles
Sturdy machine, great instructions and diagrams for threading and using various stitches. Was told this was a beginner friendly machine but the foot pedal is cheap and poorly made- there is not gradual acceleration of the needle, you press down by about a third with a loud humming then it abruptly accelerates to full speed. There is also a lack of warranty covered repair places in the Orange County California area, so if you want to get this looked at by the company, be prepared to drive to LA. Hopefully a local repair shop can fix this but out the box this one feature has abysmal performance.
The .main reason for not giving it 5 stars was the purchase process.
Great stitches. Great variety. Great machine!
The Singer 4432 arrived without damage. While unboxing, I found the sewing machine was “heavy duty”, sleek, well marked threading and sewing dials.
Heavy Duty with a plastic foot pedal, Really?
I have been using a 1961 Singer 503a for the past 15 years, so my opinion may be a bit biased. My brother and his wife have been wanting to gift me a new sewing machine for years, so I finally gave in and chose the 4432 in black. It was supposed to be simple to use, but I find myself referring to the owner's manual most of the time. Transitioning from a heavy metal machine to a lightweight one has been quite a challenge for me. I am not a fan of the plastic foot pedal (foot speed control). I have fears of braking some of these "Heavy Duty" pieces. I am still struggling to find the "Extra High Presser Foot" and have difficulty removing the bobbin cover without working around the pressure foot. I have been threading the needle myself and wind bobbins on a bobbin winder probable due to lack of patience. I find that it sews slowly, I am not a fan of the location of the reverse lever, and I do not like using the horizontal spool pin.
I really love this machine. The threader is so helpful. It's quick and easy to thread and fill bobbins. The ease of changing feet is a joy! The stitching is perfect. It's managed to cope with six layers of thick velvet (cushions with piping) on a 16# needle (just) and for a machine like this, that's amazing. It's lightweight. My only gripe is that it didn't come with a FULL user manual - and I need to go online each time to find what I'm looking for. I would buy it again knowing what I now know however, I am very happy.
Defective Bobbin Winder
I ordered this machine a week ago, and finally it is just delivered. I was so excited, and ready to work on it immediately. But sadly, right after I open the box, I noticed the bobbin winder is broken. It is crooked with connection underneath. Not usable at all. I just requested the return process, and waiting for responses. I hope that I can replace this to new machine as soon as possible.
What a fabulous sewing machine this is, I couldn’t believe the upgrade I got to a digital machine. The digital features make sewing so much easier and more precise. I love how I can adjust the stitch length and width with just a touch of a button. It also has a built-in needle threader, which saves me so much time and frustration. I'm thrilled with this upgrade and can't wait to create even more amazing projects with this sewing machine.
Machines are good machines
[Rewarded Review] Great Upgrade!
I got this machine just over a week ago, and I’m so happy I did. I received my late mom’s older model basic level Singer a few months ago and kind of taught myself to sew memory bunnies. I then started making my daughter cotton headbands with 1” elastic at the back, and even with the proper needle, it was struggling to get through several layers of fabric with the elastic. I decided to treat myself to an upgrade and I love it! There is very little learning curve, the top loading bobbin is soooo much easier than a front loading bobbin, and it sews through fabric and elastic like butter! I’m looking forward to learning how to do more projects and even quilts with this machine. Also? There is a downloadable pdf of the user manual right here on the product page for those looking for a manual. Zero regrets!
No quality control
I'm really bummed. I was looking forward to a new sewing machine, because my 40 year old Riccar is getting tired. But Singer's quality control is non-existent.
Powerful no nonsense machine
I brought this machine to replace another singer machine I brought a couple of years ago. My old machine struggled to sew multiple layers of thick material, this machine however seems to have no issues with 6 layers of fabric. Top loading bobbin is nice to have. This machine is fast too. It makes sewing long hems such as curtains a breeze. My only complaint about Singer sewing machines is the weight of the foot pedal is so light, that they don't stay where you left them, or they flip over. The cable to the foot pedal could do with being a bit longer.
Singer Heavy Duty
Love my Singer Heavy Duty machine. It was a joint birthday and Christmas gift. It sews so quickly and the needle threader is so useful and easy to use. I would recommend it highly. So far I have already made a skirt, a quilt and appliqued a Christmas t shirt!

6335m - I am in business with this machine :)
OMG! Where to begin? I will buy ex-display with Singer every time - a great saving. The machine is robust, yet lightweight (I have a bad back). I also bought the extra large extension table (Singer brand to ensure the fit) which has made my sewing experience enhanced and easier. The condition and function of the sewing machine is as new. It IS powerful and I an still adjusting to its 1100 spm speed - which is improving my sewing skills. It has so many functions, and the range of presser feet is unbelievable. I started sewing in September 2023 and I have already made cushion covers (zipper case), Roman blinds, also repairs and adjustments to clothing. The user manual seems a tad basic in parts, but that may well be due to me being a beginner.
This is my first heavy duty machine and I’m really happy. I’ve spent years with a standard model making curtains etc. but something always went wrong, so it’s lovely having a machine that will be able to handle multiple layers easily! I’m still getting used to a different set up, but I love the top loader bobbin and the fact that you can see it, always a worry previously. The cotton reel on the top seems more stable sideways. Loading cotton onto the bobbin was a breeze! Invisible zip sewed on perfectly. Really pleased I made the investment! Oh - and I love the sound of it!
These are the machines of ones dreams ,what an amazing duo ! Both machines are at a totally different level to anything I have ever come across in many years of sewing. As soon as you take them out of the boxes you realise you are dealing with top quality, elegant beasts able to do the whole range of work required in an active families lifestyle, from silk underwear to thick outdoor clothing and beyond. A brilliant investment to see you through all and any sewing projects.. Fantastically solid yet simple to use, with great stitch selection including the ideal one for stretch fabric. Being able to adjust the height to accommodate the thickness of materials is such a boon and makes all the difference too ,taking away so much stress as to worrying if the machine can take such onslaught , these machines just breeze through ,with adjustments according to requirements . I am still having to pinch myself that these are actually mine to use right now - I'm that blown away by them !
