Installed in a pantry, now it's my last favorite light in the house. Takes a lot of arm waving to turn it on and turns off after 30 seconds requiring more waving if you need more time. Consider your use case an needs before purchasing.

One of them seems to come on and turn off at unpredictable times, even when the closet door is closed.

Very poor quality, high failure rate

Very poor quality lights. We purchased 5 of these for our new home. After install, found that 3 of them went on and off at intermittent times, all night long. Checked voltages, wiring, the problem was with the units themselves. Tech support and warranty handling were very good... they sent 3 replacement lights. Installed them. 1 of them caused a buzz whenever it comes on or off, could not isolate the cause well enough to damp it down... seems to be between the LED strip and the body of the light somewhere. Contacted tech support again, they sent a replacement light. I recommended to Actuity that these lights should be taken off the market due to poor quality, no response.

This is the second time that I've ordered this item. /the first time, the light did not work; this time, the light stays on constantly.

It was a simple replacement for the exact same item I had previously installed

Junk

This is junk don't buy, the light only stays on for a very limited amount of time maybe 20 seconds. The sensor is super hard to activate, waving hand literally in front of it repeatedly to get it to come on. Our is hooked to a switch so I tried customers services recommendation to put duck tape over it. Still turns off after a very short amount of time. Im sure in so application it would work but for a closet light it does not.

Doesn't activate when I open the door unless I wave at it.

I installed this above the closet door to replace the old switched florescent fixture (a common location for closet lights). Unless I wave my hand inside the upper part of the closet it doesn't activate. Since the activation length is 30 seconds if I am rummaging at the bottom of the pantry it tends to leave me in the dark. I tried installing an angled mirror so the sensor could see the back of the door opening but for some reason that didn't work. It does provide excellent illumination.

Limited range

The concept is good but the sensor only works in a limited area. We installed the light in a pantry. It takes extra steps to activate the light which stays on for only 30 seconds. Would be better in a walk-in closet.

Doesn’t Stay On Long Enough

We installed this in our pantry above the door. We have to really wave around to get it to turn o . It doesn’t stay on very long, maybe a minute at most. Wish I had realized this time wasn’t adjustable. I will be buying something else.

No good. Bad sensor. Unadjustable 30 sec light.

Takes effort to trip the sensor. There is no timing adjustment to keep the light on None of the tricks on the internet for making the light stay on work. If you are in the closet to find an outfit, forget it - light goes off too soon and you must stop to wave your hands. Total frustration.

Excellent

Bought to replace an old fluorescent fixture in walk in closet. It took some finagling to mount since the previous installation was totally amateur, but once installed, it works perfectly. I just leave the light switch on. When I open the bifold closet doors, the light gently comes on. I had my doubts about motion sensor activation, but it's fine. I don't tend to go into the closet and stand motionless for 30 seconds lol. Anyway I was originally going to buy the $35 Utilitech rated at 1600 lumens, but this model was so much brighter in the store display. I don't like that it doesn't accept standard (or any) replacement bulbs, but hopefully it will last longer than I do in this house.

Works great for kids closets. easily replaced pull string style light with. ease of install will depend on junction box that is already there.

Easy hook up and very bright. My wife loves it in the pantry. The light comes on as soon as the door opens
