Poorly Made at Joints

I bought this for my newborn granddaughter to place her baby books and teddy bears on. The bottom of shelf collapsed unexpectedly and fell on my granddaughter while she was doing tummy time. Thankfully she was not harmed, just bruised. There was 2 medium pooh bears, and 12 small board books. I am very disappointed with this product. I'm hoping we just received a defective shelf. I'm attaching pictures. I think the corners were very weak because that's where there was thin material. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.

It takes two peopleto put together. Also plan on following the directions and take your time. In the end, it is really beautiful and looks wonderful in our smaller walkin closet. Tons of storage space!

Not a simple assembly, finished product is pretty.

This was NOT easy to assemble. I have been buying a lot of things that require assembly lately, so I am in the zone. First of all, this would be very much easier with two people. It's possible with one, but NOT easy. The instructions are pretty good, but not great. I thought one of the parts was completely missing, but after a couple of hours of trying to figure out how to get a replacement part, I found that two of the pieces were already put together, and since they were small pieces, it wasn't all that evident. In the end, I didn't put it together correctly and gave up. I just painted the parts that didn't turn out the way I expected. Also, if you are doing this with one person, even on a carpet, you are likely going to have to touch up corners and edges. Once it's together, it's pretty sturdy, but it definitely requires more patience than I had that day. Less

Poor design/Low Quality

We bought two of these bookcases even though there were some negative reviews in terms of the quality and the assembly.We assembled the shelves but they look cheap. Assembled quickly but the back is a bit of work to get right.Taking them back

Fits my space

Fits my space. I am using it to hold lightweight items. Books might be too heavy.I drilled new holes for shelves and I flipped the sides to get the fixed shelf to be in a lower spot. I also left off the screw-in feet as it seems more stable without them.

Very disappointed

We don't recommend this product. It's ok. What we don't like is the line or seam down the middle of the back panel. You really can't see it when you look at the image online. The holes that are along the sides so that you can adjust the shelves show and look very tacky. The directions are not the best. I would like to return this item.

Tall, wide, stately looking bookcase. Some pieces were incredibly hard to assemble, (I didn't believe other reviews that said this) requiring a lot of time and patience. Namely inserting the back into the slot that holds it in place. It just would not stay. The bookcase needs to be on its side while you do this or else you can't see how the bottom fits onto the sides.Very disappointed that the shelves can't support as much weight as one would imagine they should, considering how wide and deep it is. Shelves started bowing right away.That said, overall pleased with how they turned out and happy I purchased it.

For the price, I expected higher quality. I don’t like that you can see the folding line down the middle of the bookcase. It’s quite obvious and multiple people have already pointed it out. The bookcase also comes with little white stickers to cover up the holes, up close it’s pretty noticeable. I also have one shelf that is bowing (and I don’t have too much on it, just a few books).

So far so good with some minor issues

I bought 2 of these bookcases. The drilled holes lined up well, but I was disappointed that there were gaps left along both crown moldings when I screwed them to the top and bottom panels. Trying to connect the crown molding pieces together was frustrating. But I was most annoyed with trying to keep the back panels unfolded and not buckling while I attached the top and bottom pieces. Since the back panel pieces came folded in the box, a seam is visible in the finished product, which I don't like. With that exception, the overall final piece looks nice. However, I can see where liquids would easily ruin the piece.

The sides, top, bottom and shelves are sturdy and nice, but the back of this bookcase is literally a super thin piece of cardboard. The back was very difficult to fit inside all the groves it's supposed to in putting it together. Don't buy this if you ever plan to move... I don't think it will move well at all. And the decorative top and bottom pieces require you hammer together which cracks the wood, so not a good design.I really wanted a white bookcase, but I would not buy this piece again.
