Design Flaw
I bought this a Canadian Tire in 2022. Used it several times without incident. Recently I went to pour the stored oil back into the frier and ended up with half a gallon of oil all over my other Kitchen appliances, counter top and floor. The whole top of the oil reservoir container seperated from the rest of the box and the entire contents came gushing out. What a mess.
Unreadable manual
There is something that makes me furious. I purchased a compact easy-clean deep fryer. The manual that comes with it is printed in a tiny, virtually unreadable font. The illustrations are to small to figure out. I went online to look for the manual and there is no manual for the compact version. I assume it is the same as for the full-size version but it doesn't say. Even on my large screen, it comes up so small as to be unreadable. I am saying I would recommend it but only because I am forced to chose yes or no in order to post.
Plastic oil holder leaks after a few uses
I purchased this unit twice from Amazon.
It works well. I did a load of french fries with it to begin with. But it capacity is not what I
Choose a different unit, this one is a gimmick
Hard pass on this unit - it's a gimmick at best. I have one, and I like it, but I learned the hard way that I should have got a different one. The idea is nice but poor execution. Oil leaks and makes a mess when you go to dump the filtered oil from the tray back into the fryer. It does a great job of filtering the oil, but what good is it if each time you go to put the oil back in, it makes a mess. It leaks out of the area on the storage container that the oil flows into from the filter, and the reason for that is because the whole design of that part of it is flawed. And after you filter the oil then what? Well, you're left with a couple tablespoons of oil inside the fryer still because it doesn't all drain because it isn't designed well enough. So you end up discarding some oil down the sink and washing out the container. At that point I think i'd rather have something that I just use a screen mesh scoop to pick out the bits in the oil. That's what I do with it now. I just leave the oil in the tray, I got rid of the container, and I scoop the bits out. Also don't assume you can safely transport the thing while the oil is in the tray, any side to side movement will cause some oil to spill/leak out of the spout that the oil flows into from the filter.
T-Fal Ultimate Deep Fryer
Absolutely love this deep fryer. Fried 50 lbs of chicken with no problem. I had a big catering job this weekend and this fryer showed out. Didn't take a long time to fry and I put alot of chicken in there (without the basket because it fries more) My niece gave me this fryer and I'm so glad she did. Would definitely recommend. Cleaning was a breeze 10/10 for me
Total Crap
Bought this believing it was a good deep fryer - apparently all of these so called "expert reveiw mobs" don't know what the hell they are talking about.
I got my package on time and it was so easy to put together. It even had a list of the best oils to be used with the machine so it easy to decide what kind of oil.I wanted to place in it. Its super sturdy and I absolutely love the oil filtration aspect. It stores the filtered oil in the container down below. So the oil is just not sittin the machine.I absolutely love this deep fryer. I would recommend it to anybody whos Serious about having fun deep frying anything and everything they can find.
Best deep fryer we’ve owned and used by far!
Works as advertised. Love the oil drain and filter feature. Huge plus for that. We could do 2lbs of wings at a time, more than double our last. The ability to clean the tub and basket in the dishwasher is also awesome. We highly recommend this. And for your kids, it kinda looks like a transformer.
Average at Best
To the point - this deep fryer is average at best due to the following things:
T-Fal Ultimate EZ Clean is a perfect name for this fryer..
We decided to fry up some perch. Took the old Deep Fryer out and we knew we needed a new one. Went to Canadian Tire and picked up one that had a good review. After opening it we knew it was too small. Returned and picked up the T-fal Ultimate EZ clean fryer. I like how this unit come apart for cleaning. It is not as robust as my old one, but nothing is these days. It heated up the oil quickly and it did a really good job frying the fish. My old unit had a way to hang the basket over the oil. This one does not have that feature. However, I love the way it reclaims the oil. With just one quick position of the selector switch the oil slowly drains into a holding tank. I left it overnight and when I checked the fryer, the oil had all drained into the tank and all that was left at the bottom of the fryer was the small bits and pieces of fish. I gave 4 out of 5 because there is no way to remove the screen filter for easy cleaning. There were a few very small pieces of fish behind the screen that we could not easily remove. I ended up using compressed air from a can to clean it our completely. T-fal needs to make a revision to this model so that the filter can be cleaned easily.
5 Stars
This is such a great appliance to have on hand. While I definitely enjoy air frying and the overall benefits of doing so, there are just some things that are best deep fried. Being able to deep fry rather than on a stovetop makes a world of difference. I love that this has a "ready" indicator light, heats quickly and the lid provided keeps my countertop clean. The ability to filter oil as it's drained and stored in the onboard container is awesome since it allows for proper storage when not in use and cleanup is easy!!! All parts (except the heating element) are dishwasher safe too. I definitely recommend.
Poor Quality
I purchased a T-Fal deep fryer model F58-M1 which was the larger deep fryer available.
Excellent!
My wife and I use this all the time! It's super easy to use and has really easy cleanup. The one tip I'll give is to make sure the oil heats up fully before dropping the food into it. I wouldn't mind if it were a bit deeper, but really, there aren't many fryers that will be deeper unless it's an industrial type.Depending on what you cook, you should probably get 10 to 12 uses out of the oil, but having it saved in the bottom of the fryer is outstanding and takes so much of the work out of the cleaning process. You just wait for it to drain (it filters on its own...) and then wipe out whatever is in the bottom, and then throw the metal pan in the dishwasher along with the basket. Couldn't be easier.
Badly Designed
Concept is great but four major negatives.
Skip the Air Fryers! Deep Fry with Tfal
Well, after 6 years of nearly weekly use, my old Tfal deep fryer finally gave out. I was so happy with the Ultimate EZ Clean (model: FR800050) that I reordered the same one again and decided to write a review after plenty of experience with this product.
Not happy
I should have purchased a normal deep fryer and poured the oil through a fine-mesh strainer. This looked like a great idea but I am sorry I purchased it and I threw out the box so now I am stuck with this!
Good fryer, but the EZ Clean is a great idea with poor implementation
I bought this deep fryer a two months ago because we were looking for a larger unit. The fryer itself is very good: it heats up quickly, there is adequate volume, the larger sizes suits our needs (2 people) better than smaller units.
Best Deep Fryer Ever!!!
If you researched this model deep fryer like I did I am sure you read bad things about it and problems people had giving it bad reviews. The deep fryer is not the problem at all guaranteed and all it was in every single bad review I read was operator error. With seeing it and how nice it looked and all the features it has I did research it and found the user manual on the internet. Once I read the user manual it explained to me 100% any bad review I read that someone put up. All the people that left any bad review on it for any problem they had using it never read the user manual first before using it. So do not go by any bad reviews you read that people wrote it because it is phenomenal. Basically all bad reviews came from people who NEVER read the user manual before using it the first time and if they did read it they NEVER would have had that problems at all. It has many great features and first one is the oil strainer in the bottom of the screen pan which filters your oil after it cooled that goes into the plastic drain pan. It does filter everything of what you fried out of the oil that goes in the plastic drain pan underneath. I would suggest getting a stainless steel funnel that has a filter that slips in to get all the remaining oil out of the frying pan to put back in your container it came in. I used it probably 10 times and my oil still looks 100% brand new putting it back in the gallon bottle it came in with not one single floating in it from anything I cooked with it. Do not worry about any oil coming out when using it with the filter on the top cover when you see steam coming out with it trapping all of it. I did a test on it to see how good it was and found no oil came out at all and only steam. The manual has temperatures and cooking times in it and this is for a full batch and basically suggestions. You may not be making that much so just watch it and check what you are cooking and you will have that all down path. It has a hanger on the oil pan for the basket to hang on just above the oil to let all the excess oil drain off back into the oil with what you just made when it is done and keeps it warm. Cleaning is simple where I though it would be a lot of work, but is not at all just using a good dish soap and washing parts in the sink, wipe down, and put in dish strainer to finish drying. Oil... Get a good one that is refined that has what they call a high smoke point. What that means is the oil can withstand a very high temperature and not burn putting a burnt taste in what you just made. Basically look for an oil with a smoke point that is as high or higher then the temperature the deep fryer can go up to. So when buying an oil look to see what its smoke point is rated at. This deep fryer is beyond awesome and like above read the manual before using it, draining it, and cleaning it. I guarantee you will not have one single problem or complaint like others leaving bad reviews on it where all it was is operator error with them not reading the manual. Then like me you will leave it a phenomenal review.
I wanted to deep fry my own chicken and fries p so much better than fast food - so went on the hunt to find a solid deep fryer option. After readingwatching a lot of reviews, I finally settled in on the T-fal. It has the size and basic features I wanted, and reviews were generally positive. I also paid close attention to pricing - Wayfair’s price was essentially the same or less as everywhere else that carries this model.
