This is exactly what I was looking for in an electric tea infuser. It is a gift for this Christmas, so I can only comment on the quality of the packing material around the boxed kettle. The outside box was torn and dented by the shipper, but the inside box had no dents or damage due to manufacturer's quality.

I searched a long time to find a kettle with metal and no plastic insude. It was difficult to find but this one has all metal with some use of plastic but it does not contact the water or surface inside the kettle for anyone else looking to get away from plastics. My husband an I are both tea drinkers and prefer using an electric kettle with a brew basket. We like the convenience of setting the proper temps for loose black tea, and especially like the "warm" cycle for keeping the tea until we drink it. However, my only complaint is that it is awkward (and hot!) to remove the brew canister from the lid once it has brewed for the desired time. Otherwise, it is a great tea kettle/brewer.
