The lid smells strongly of plastic. Boiled water has a strong unpleasant smell. Will have to return it.

Almost like new

Well packaged product looks essentially like new. Based part looked maybe re-polished with some swirl marks. Works well. Boils water pretty quickly and has auto-shutoff feature. Built in strainer feature seems a little odd. I would not need that part, but maybe some would.

The kettle continued to have a chemical smell inside it even after boiling water in it 3 times with water to the max line.

It is a nice kettle. 59$ for a refurbished kettle, you need to get it on a crazy deal because the price is crazy

Fast boil

I love it; usually I use the microwave to make a cup of tea but I find this better. Not sure if because I am a gadget girl or cause I like Tea pots, or both.

Looks and works great! 👍 Boils water quickly. Heating base is cool to the touch. Does consume about 1440 watts of power, but only when heating (typically less than 5 or 6 minutes). Tip: Pour out any remaining water left in the carafe and place back on the base with the lid in the UP and OPEN position. All water residue on the inside walls and base of the carafe will dry quickly and completely. Highly recommend this Crazy Deal!

LEAKS! Burned my hand

So this looks great, boils water in 9 minutes... but when I picked it up to pour, water leaked out the handle and burned my hand badly. Water also poured out of the on/off switch. Maybe it was a defective return (the box was open when I received it) but SHAME ON TARGET for selling it. This is very unsafe. I've been using the stove since I was five and never burned myself before. An electric kettle should be safer than an open flame. Also, you have to pull hard on the lid to open it and refill it. Another bad safety feature if you want to make multiple pots of tea because it is hot and you could get steam burns. It should have a push button to open the lid. Returning. Disappointed because it looks great and I've been wanting an electric kettle forever. Cuisinart is normally a good brand, but not this time.
