Quit Working After Three Weeks
It worked fine at first and after using it on and off for three weeks the kettle quit working. Very disappointing. Now I have to go to the store and return it.
Faulty Lid
I purchased this kettle last week. Fun colors as the water heats up. I do like that the kettle can measure the temperature. I purchased the kettle for its ability to read the temperature rather than the models with pre-set buttons. Unfortunately, the lid design is not 100%. The lid does not close. It takes 2-3 times for the lock mechanism to catch. I will be returning it.
The bottom piece stopped working
I loved it, especially the way it lights up. Unfortunately, it stopped working around the 1 yr anniversary of buying it. The bottom is the issue, and I'm hoping to call them and get a replacement, hopefully I can.
It's OK
I've had this for about a week, now. I appreciate the ability to select a temperature. But for some reason, it's in 18-degree increments. The perfect temperature for coffee is 190, so the closest I can get is 194. The thing is, though, that it keeps heating after it reaches the chosen temperature. It usually goes about 10 degrees higher, and then I have to wait for it to cool. The good thing is that just pressing the power button turns on the display that shows what the current water temperature is, so I can keep watch on it. And I have to say that it's a big step above my old kettle that didn't display any temperature at all!
Doesn’t last-went through 2
The lid snaps off after just a few months of use. This has happened to both of these kettles we have owned. It's a shame because it is a great kettle otherwise and the colors make it fun.
Buy something else
Purchased 4/24/22 and only lasted until 5/6/23. Bought this to replace another boiler that I had for more than 5 years.
So disappointed
I absolutely loved this kettle's features and was very happy for several months. Then, like many of the other reviews say, the lid broke off. I struggled with replacing the lid manually each refill, but perservered. After a few weeks of that, the entire kettle stopped turning on. Incredibly disappointing and not worth the cost at all. Stay away.
Love it!
I love the colors, changes as it gets hotter. I’ve had mine a year and use it all the time. I haven’t had any trouble out of mine. I would definitely recommend this product!
Rendered Useless By Broken Lid
The reviews I'd read at time of purchase (July '22) were reasonably good but it appears that all of us who purchased this item around that time ended up with the same problem. About two months ago (February '23) the lid started catching and this morning (late April) the lid broke entirely. The small plastic piece seen in another review is what broke for us as well. We're very disappointed as a kettle is a vital part of our morning & evening routines. We'd gotten at least four years out of our previous kettle from Capresso so we'll be switching back.
Won't last, not worth the money
It was great………. While it worked. I’ve had it for less than a year and it’s already stopped working. The base won’t connect to the kettle anymore, making the whole thing useless
Fun and functional
I love the light show and it works great.
Lid broken after a few months
Not worth the price, the lid for filling the kettle stopped opening after few months of use.
Still Trying to Find a Great Kettle
The lid stuck closed most of the time and just fell off one day. Not well made.
Close to excellent, but...
I've had it two weeks but now have to exchange it. It boils water very fast. Two minutes for half full, three for full. 1750 watts is the way to go. The temperature "button" is very sensitive and maybe finicky. It can be challenging to scroll to the temperature you want without bypassing it. It's the same with the tiny "keep warm" button. Unfortunately the nifty colored LEDs went wonky and some repeat and others stopped working. It does beep when done though.
Trying again
Really loved this kettle, which we bought on our daughter's recommendation. We generally get a new kettle every few years because we use them several times each day. After only 4 weeks the top stopped opening. We tried unsuccessfully to fix it. Luckily Target was great about exchanging it for us, so we'll see how the next one does. I noticed another reviewer had the same problem. My daughter has had her's for about 5 months now and has had no issues.
Not durable
Didn’t last. It was great while it worked but we’ve had it maybe a year and it won’t work anymore. First the lid button stopped working so we couldn’t pop it open to fill it. We fiddled with it until we fixed it (actually took it apart and fixed the spring inside) and continued to use it for a few months. The lid spring broke again, fixed it again. But now it doesn’t turn on at all. No hint that it was wearing out prior to; one morning it just didn’t work anymore. It seems like a lot of appliances are built to break these days, like they expect to you get a new one yearly or something, but I want one I can use at least 2-3 years. This wasn’t it.
Better than most
This by far heats water to a boil the fastest of any electric kettle i've owned. and trust me I've owned plenty. As we speak I own 3 because I love tea and tea parties. I love the lights. It took me some time to get to learn all the features. I like the wide mouth to clean it, it does have some pouring issues if you're not careful and want to pour too quickly. I like that I can see how much water is actually in there. overall its a pretty good kettle for the money. I'd recomment it.
I love it!
It works great. I love the controlled temperature, and it's so pretty!
Fun features but ok overall
I love the features and it boils water quicker than other kettles I’ve had (I buy a new one every couple of years because I use them so much). I’m not crazy about the way it pours though and water leaks from the top sometimes because you have to tilt it so much. Also, this means all the water doesn’t pour out so I’m guessing this one will need cleaning more often than others since there’s always a bit of water sitting in it. I won’t be buying this one again when I need a new one, but it’s a fun kettle.
Temperature button doesnt work.
I have tried and tried to change the temperature on this kettle and it does not work. Pressing the temperature icon does nothing at all. Will be returning.
