Misleading info

This urn was advertised as having a tea strainer and a removable lid. It has neither. I would like to return it. I'm seeking the aforementioned.

Best Kettle

I love this electric kettle! First one lasted 10 years and was so happy to find another exact one to purchase and replace. It is used everyday for pour over coffee and tea. 5/5!

Bad zeal

I absolutely loved my tea kettle until the lip seal around the glass started to lift. It’s near impossible to put back and just flairs out.

Good kettle

I really like this kettle, had it for almost two years. The top doesnt open anymore, the hinge broke so I have to use my nails or something to open it and fill it with water. Otherwise, works well

Best glass kettle

Surely the best of the glass kettles. I returned another brand recently because it smelled of plastic. This one is nicely made, it boils quickly, turns itself off, the lid opens "politely" and it's a pleasure to use.

Beautiful but Flawed Functionality

As others have mentioned, the lid and auto shutoff haven’t worked properly on our kettle since we purchased it. The lid will pop open as soon as the water begins to boil/steam and won’t stay closed until it has cooled. Unfortunately we purchased it years ago and didn’t access warranty at the time. We continued to use it despite the lid, just making sure we didn’t start it and leave it unattended. It is beautiful, we really liked the look and had purchased it online and didn’t want to deal with the hassle of returning it. Looking back that may have been our best bet given the high cost we initially paid and the problems folks seem to have continued to have despite getting a replacement. Recently, the glass around the handle spontaneously broke. I came online to see if there was maybe a recall on this model due to these issues but didn’t see anything regarding this. However, did come across these reviews and thought it may be helpful to add our experience.

Top Lid Failed BKE595XL

While the kettle functions well for boiling water, the top lid failed after a few years as other reviews documented, clearly a design flaw. There also seems to be no way obvious to replace the lid with a new part from the spare parts listed on the website, a disappointment. Below I checked that I would not recommend this product to a friend based on lid failure.

Quality product

This is the second Breville kettle I have purchased. The first one I bought (exact same model) lasted years and the new one is proving to be as efficient.

Lid stopped opening

This looks like a common problem. After almost 4 years of use the lid has broken and won’t open anymore. We have to use our nails while pressing the button down to help it open. I’d be interested in a fix or replacement part as otherwise it’s been a good kettle.

This is our 2nd kettle. First one still works great but we needed another and wouldn't buy anything other than Breville.

We have purchased this two times and each time the start bottom stop working. Does not worth the money don’t waist your money on this one.

Love it, but the plastic piece connecting the lid to the kettle broke 😞

Love this kettle so much. I make tea often, and it’s such a pretty kettle that’s quick to heat up water. Unfortunately the plastic part connecting the lid to the kettle broke (I’m very gentle as I adore this kettle), and now the lid won’t pop up as it’s supposed to. Overall would recommend the product, but beware. There isn’t a replacement part so I’m stuck. May have to find another company for my next kettle purchase.
