Maybe a choice of color???

Overall I love this bidet/toilet. And so far this plate works as it's supposed to. However, this push plate is large and really stands out visually on the wall after install. Because of that I would have preferred the choice of color and materials, or at least the option of upgrading or having the choice to have the metal ones you also sell be interchangeable. Cheap plastic is not what I wanted.

Slim down the kit to just the plate.

The original product has a plastic tab the is easily broken. The plate still works but has a large.gap.to the wall. The push plate is sold as a kit. The plate alone could reduce the costs significantly. I now have a lot of parts that will likely never be needed.

Poor Engineering

What a horrible horrible piece of engineering. My issue is with installation or future service issues. 1) It's not enough for the 95% plastic part to cost more than $80. 2) It's not enough that you'll have to know or remember how to uninstall or remove the faceplate or you'll likely break the clips that hold it on (I chalk it up to planned obsolescence). Sure, I like that I don't see screws like on an electrical outlet faceplate, but those are incredibly obvious for quick removal. 3) What is prompting the poor review is the 1/8" flange around the backside meant to overlap the drywall and cover up the rough-in hole. I've been building for 30 years and installed this in my own home. Unless out of luck, I bet I've never seen the rough-in holes cut to such tight tolerances. So after getting the faceplate to install and stay, there's additional touch-up required, poor reviews to write over a senseless and stupid engineering decision. The faceplate amounts to 59 square inches. The two buttons take up only 8 of the 59" of the faceplate. Why in the world would it make a difference to add a more reasonable "cover all bases" 1/2" flange - I'd gladly pay the additional 50 cents in production costs on an expense piece of plastic to begin which might have been somewhat justifiable with good engineering from someone who has done some field installation work in the real world. I can't overstate enough how poorly I think this is engineered to be user friendly. Hopefully, when fully implemented, it will work reliably and live up to the general perception I have of the quality in Toto products. Time will tell.
