The size of the staub enameled 4.5 inch cooker

For almost $70 or precisely $68.99, you get a cooking vessel that swims on the palm of a newborn baby’s hand. Calling it miniature is simply overstating its size. In the picture it’s size is 2x enlarged and customer service from zwilling tells you that you bought this thing at your own risk. Don’t get mr wrong it is a beautiful miniature enameled cast iron vessel from staub but useless. Even one small size egg will over flow in this joke. I am stuck with it because returning it will bring the cost to almost $100.00 because customer service refused to send me a free shipping label to download.

This was a mistake. You couldn’t even fry an egg in it it was so small. Returned. I though it was a bit larger when ordering.

Measurements on web is including handles 4” inside pan ...way too small! Plus I purchased the bluishgreenish enameled color but received the black! False advertising on color size

It’s Well Made & Will Last A Long Time!

Can’t say anything about this because I was expecting something totally different! I’m sure it’s well made. But I really know I’d never be able to use it or get enough use out of it for the cost was. I’d rather spent my money on something I could use more often!

Great way to serve smaller quantities, and still benefit from Staub's amazing properties. Can be used on top of the oven as well as inside. Perfect for serving hot dips, sauces, individual casseroles, deserts, cakes and pastry. If you enjoy entertaining you will find numerous ways to include these on your dinner table.

I was very disappointed that it was so small. I guess I didn’t read the small print closely but it seemed very expensive for something that was only about 4” across and could hardly be called a frying pan.

This pan was advertised as a frying pan. My question is where is the rest of it I was shocked to receive such a small pan. I think the word petit or mini should have been used in the ad.

great serving dish

I love preparing individual sides in these dishes. The cast iron heats evenly and retains temperature for a long time. The enamel coating makes them easy to clean and no seasoning required. The matte interior gives great browning and easy release. I love to use it for individual portions of scalloped potatoes and berry crumbles.

Just bear in mind that this is VERY small - it's six inches from the outer handles, so the pan itself is about 4 inches in diameter. It's not something you could really use to fry anything, more of a serving dish....

Great for individual sides

I love pulling these out when I am having a dinner party so that all my guests get their own dishes. Because these are made out of cast iron, when I bake macaroni and cheese in them, the edges get nice and crunchy. The handles on these are great so that I can grab them really easily.

Nice, Solid Little Baker

Try a soufflé or quiche in this and you'll be pleased. Enameled inside and out for consistency and cleanability.

This is my cookie dish! It is the perfect size for a cookie and a scoop of ice cream on top! Of course you can do many other things too.

I use this baking dish for individual servings of tamale pie. Its black matte finish on the inside of the pan allows for perfect browning. The heat capability is amazing and stays warm all the way through dinner. Safe for use on all types of heat sources, including gas, electric, and induction, and oven safe up to 500F.

great small gratin

I love to make individual mac and cheese in these, you can mound to a peak and the breadcrumbs stay put! I also use it for a few other things but my newest is to put BBQ sauce in it, keep it on the grill to keep warm, and be able to baste the chicken without dropping the temp from cold sauce!

I love this serving piece to use for my "famous" crab dip. I serve it chilled so Cast iron i a great material to keep chilled in the fridge, it then keeps the food chilled when you serve it. I'm sure it would work great for hot dips too but It stays so busy right now, come winter I will try hot foods and I'm sure I'll be very pleased

Nice size mini for making for individual casseroles and some desserts. Oven & dishwasher safe.

One of my favorite things to do is serve individual sides or desserts at dinner parties or even for my family. The best is a berry crumble or brownie with a scoop of ice cream on top served hot and crispy from the oven! I also enjoy these for appetizers...a small baked brie wheel is perfect in one of these. Staub matte black interior coating always cleans up easily.
