I tried to use it under my sink. It disclosed that there was a water restrictor in the unit AND even came with another restrictor for the facet. However the stream of water was just unacceptable even mixing the very hot with cold unrestricted flow.

A good unit that works as advertised

Super quality but...

Purchased to boost the temperature of the hot water since the water heater is 60' away from the kitchen sink. Since I only had 120v under the sink I was limited to the smaller unit. It does little to increase the temperature. If this is your need, then figure out how to use 240v units.

Excellent low volume water heater. Currently used as a warm water source for a bidet. Easy to install.

I love the idea of it. Functionally and practically it works fine...it just took us a lot longer to set it up. ...the nozzle conversion didn't fit and we went through 3 different sizes/threads, even with a plumber's help. It takes a little getting used to...less pressure. Be patient, it takes 7 - 10 seconds to heat up. (but that's waaaay less than what we had, while wasting all that water in the line).

Product performs as expected. Don't expect very hot water with 1800W. Two minor things: it's hard to install in a small under sink cabinet due to the side attachment screws; the instructions say you need to install a flow restrictor, the aerator/restrictor did not fit for my sink and l spent some time trying to find one. It turns out the unit restricts the flow by itself.

I am dissappointed at the low volume of water that is able to flow through this heater. I was expecting it to allow the flow to be a bit more.** c/s 04/21/15

seems ...be well made....water flow thru is terrible.....water is hot but only a small stream....not suited for a kitchen and actually I can't think of where it is suited.

Great Product When Low Wattage Available and Low Hot Water Needs

This is the second Steibel Eltron Mini 2-1 that I have installed in a mobile coffee trailer with limited electric wattage available. The key selling factor for me is that it runs on 115V/1 phase/15 amp service, The aerator reduces water flow to 0.35 GPM, but this is still adequate for the infrequent use of hot water needed in this application (light rinsing of containers). The water is basically warm - it will not produce steaming hot water if that is what you are looking for. But it is a great product for the application we are using it for.
