This was delivered in a box without instructions and I cannot figure out if it's all here and what goes where. Have tried to contact manufacturer with no response!

Does the job

Works okay but the mechanism for locking is tricky. Just need to spend some time ensuring it has locked properly before walking away. Otherwise, when locked, the gate is fine. It doesn't close automatically, which I prefer.

This is such a great baby gate . Set it up at the bottom of our stairs for our puppies and our 2 year old. Was fairly easy to set up and instal the sides into wall then the gate itself. So it really really sturdy and my 2 year old can't figure how to open it which is a must . Super happy

This gate is totally worth the price and (installation) time. It works great with our banisters and installation is fairly easy. What I love most about this gate is that it's sturdy and prevents my very mobile 9-month-old from changing its shape with his playful shaking motion. Definitely recommend!

We received this gate about a month ago and it's been our saving grace. We have a newly one year old who loves to climb steps. We have stairs with banisters so it was hard to find a gate that would work. This worked like a charm. It was easy enough to install myself. It's with held her shaking it and pushing it. It's easy to get through the gate with my hands full. I love this gate because when opening it, there isn't a bottom piece to trip over like a different brand we use in the kitchen. It clicks close easy and it's easy to open. We use our gate at the bottom of the steps. Keeps both baby and a 75 lb dog from going up the stairs.0

I’m so glad I received this bannister gate. It seems very durable and was easy to install. I love that it already has a piece to connect to the bannister so there’s no added cost to buying this product. The directions to me were very easy to follow. Seems to keep the kids safe which is most important!

[Rewarded Review] Great for stairs; just check your measurements 1st

I was so excited when I first saw this Summer Infant baby gate because it allows banister to banister installation with no drilling required. But I should have measured my stairs first, since the opening downstairs is 48 inch long, 2 inches more than the largest opening of this gate. But my disappointment didn’t last long - we also need a gate for the top of the stairs, and we do have banisters there as well, with an standard size opening, so it does work for us, just not exactly where we intended to place it originally.

My 13 month son hates this product as it stops him at his track but I love it. I actually use it in different locations and it is easy to move. Great item to have if you have stairs or just afraid your child will get away from a scary location

Easy to install. The pieces used to install it to a banister seem to be durable. The gate itself is sturdy. I love that it's easy to adjust the width of the gate and that there's no bar or anything to have to step over when the gate is open. I wish it could swing open both detections instead of just one. The piece that stops the gate from opening both directions is plastic & I wish it were metal so I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking. This gate is taller than my old gate and I really like that so that my kids can't try to climb over it. Over all it's a pretty good gate.

Difficult install, latch too easy to unlock

We had a terrible time installing this gate at both the top and bottom of our staircase. We had to redneck engineer some blocks of wood due to the shape of our bannisters. But it serves its purpose. Be warned though that this is a single-handed latch and VERY easy to open. They say the gate is only recommended for ages 6-24 months, which is true because our almost 2 year old can now open this by himself. Which is of course a huge safety hazard and makes me extremely scared for his safety. I wish there was an option to add a two-step latch system to make this safer for older children. Just because he’s 2 years old doesn’t mean he’s able to go up and down a steep staircase alone! This is a decent product but for us requires some DIY to make it exactly what we need

Nice gate, needs a smoother install though

Directions are ridiculously unclear, I’m relatively handy but wanted to follow instructions to ensure maximum safely. Also, we have molding so we had to use the spacers, which led to the nails being way too short. Longer screws and were in business.

Excellent for staircases!

Works well with bottom staircase. Had to adjust strap location a couple of times to fit banister properly.
