Great futon....my regular mattress was too soft...needed something firm... remembered I slept well on a futon when I was younger... it's working out great.... even the smell of the futon at first brought back good memories.... Thank you and God bless.

After just a month of using it as a floor sleeping mattress, the cotton stuffing migrated so much away from the heavy areas of my body (from shoulders to hips) towards where my head, arms, and lower legs would be that my body was no longer getting the support it needs. I am only 5'4" and 120lbs. The mattress is too heavy for me alone to lift the mattress and "beat" the cotton filling back into place. Even with help, it is very hard to get the filling to move back into even distribution. Pretty disappointing considering the price tag. I wanted an all natural mattress without the high price tag... I wish I had saved the $200 to put towards a more durable natural mattress.

It's a great and comfy futon mattress... for a FUTON! Don't think you can get away with saving money by putting this on a regular bed frame. It just does not work. But that's completely my fault, and it still gets 5 stars - just make sure you buy it for a futon. I love that it's all cotton, made in the USA, super comfortable to lay on, but it's too small for a bed frame. I bought the queen size and it was all around too small for a queen bed frame.

Not exactly what I expected.

I was expecting it to be more compact filled and firm like a regular futon. It’s a bit fluffier than I expected. It’s sufficient for what I need for now. I may need to spend the extra money and get an original shikibuton shipped from Japan.

I was looking for a hard futon mattress to replace the current bed mattress which is soft and hurts my back. I have always trusted Gold Bond brand so I am glad to find it here with a great price. Received it within 10 days from ordering. It was nice and clean. Opened the package and leave the mattress unused for two days. There is minor smell but it was expected and not too bad. After that, put it to use and everything is good so far. Happy with the order and would recommend it to others.

I have been looking for a matress that is not foam. This is it. I use it on my hospital bed. Works great.

HORRIBLE

After one night of use, there is a hollowness in middle, basically cotton filling inside moved sideways. When contacted seller to return, they are saying it is non returnable. I might just throw it away. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS. Seller is awful as well.

This mattress was received within a few business days after placing the order. I already had one of these mattresses and new what I was getting. It is a very firm cotton futon mattress. Like all mattresses of this type, it does get indentations and needs flipping/rotating. It might be a bit thin for everyday use if you are not combining it with another layer. I have a 2 inch latex topper that I put over the futon. Still trying to decided if I want a softer/medium support layer between the two.

Natural, firm bed. Great price for all cotton matress/ futon.

Good Investment

My Brother bought this futon mattress to serve as a buffer for a really thick mattress. My Nephew is severely autistic and he’s very large. He routinely throws himself on the mattress which disturbs the neighbor downstairs. The futon is very well made and really shields the noise when my Nephew throws himself down. Great purchase.
