Easy to install and great secure deadbolt lock

This Kwikset deadbolt was/is an excellent purchase. It was a perfect replacement,fit, and easy to install without needed locksmith support for/to replace our old deadbolt lock. I recommend this deadbolt lock for a great security, good product, it's additional features,and operates locking/unlocking nice and smoothly . Especially when you replace/install skid plate that is provided

Replaced the "contractor" deadbolt on the door for the garage. Figured it was time to upgrade the deadbolt to a stronger unit and reinforce the door jamb and striker plates. Installs as easy as removing the old, cheap, weak deadbolt. We like being able to set the lock to our existing keys. The lock works very smooth. How the old deadbolt and striker were installed gave a false sense of security. If you just replaced a deadbolt on a standard door install, security is barely increased. If security is on your mind, remember to reinforce the door jambs and hinges.

After I purchased and installed the dual cylinder lock (key used on both sides of cylinder to prevent someone from reaching in and turning deadbolt by hand after breaking window) I knew what was coming from my wife---we can't have this, if there is a fire getting key and unlocking will not work. I showed here the slot in the wall I made with key placement and also were i put a secondary key (also near the door). Once again i was told this will not work. I showed her the benefit that if someone broke a window they could not reach in and unlock door and left it at that. Over the next few days I watched her as she would run, grab stored key, and unlock door. I also observed her doing the same---but without grabbing key and pretend to turn a deadbolt handle. I never brought up the issue again and after a few days when she left to run errands I took out the Double Cylinder Deadbolt and i
