A pretty average but good product

Good price. Fit well. The part that the key goes in is brass colored, not the color of the rest of the latch, if that matters to you. Definitely a budget latch but it does the job well enough.

UNSAFE and POORLY MADE

Have had to replace for 2nd time in 9 months. You'll never get a third chance from me. Poorly manufactured with horrible tolerances. Does not duplicate well, or at all. This product should never be sold into the US again!

Can not make extra keys

I have not found any locksmith or hardware store who can make duplicate keys for this lock, and the manufacturer does not have key blanks either

You get what you pay for basically.

For the money the value is good. However the latch and the body of the lock part appear to be made of die-cast mazak - a brittle zinc alloy which is not terribly strong, especially in the case of a door being slammed when the latch would be subject to sudden hard shocks which could crack it. Others I have previousltyexperienced were made of cast iron, which is a much more suitable and strong material.

The Night Latch is very easy to install. I would say it takes less than an hour total. I would make sure you don't need more than two keys, though. I've been to every big box store in the area, but nobody carries these keys. I'm to the point I will have to find a locksmith to make me extra keys.

Broke while I was installing it.

Thank GOD it broke while I was installing it. I could never get into my cabin if it broke while I was trying to get in. This lock is horrendous!!!!!!

Poor Quality Control

These night dead latches are not up to the quality of the Night Watch company. They are handed specific and cannot be reversed without losing the latch back capability.

Very bad quality in inner components

It works when it wants, do not touch the locking tip or you will have to open it to put inner parts back in place, this is the type of products that you think twice when you are going to buy a product made in China.

First off, this was not a first watch lock. I have one of those from the 60's, and it is awesome! This one said hickory hardware. I opened it up, and the insides malfunctioned, so I had to open the lock up and put it back together. It was stiff and very poorly made. I lubed it and got it working. A matter of days after installation, a malfunction locked me out of my house, so I had to kick the door in. I threw it in the trash and modified my door to take a normal deadbolt. Door works perfectly now. However, it cost me my time, this lock, and some new wood and moulding for my door jam.
