Great quality pans!
I purchased the 8" cast iron skillet and very pleased. The pan is very nice quality, heavy duty and I like that it was already pre-seasoned. As with all cast iron, as long as you follow the correct cooking and cleaning process, these pans will hold up great!
love it
I'm so happy I bought it despite some bad reviews. This is one of the best-cast iron skillets I bought, yes any cast iron will rust if you don't dry it after you wash it and grease it with oil. You have to know how to take care of them given the proper care in order for you to be able to enjoy it to the fullest. I will be ordering a second one.
Cast iron skillet
It isn't a Griswold but it's a decent skillet fir the price. I've read many poor reviews warning of the pan rusting. If you don't know anything about cast iron, please read up on how to care for it. It's iron. Iron rusts if it's not completely dried after cleaning. No matter what is said about CI being pre-seasoned, you still have to season them. Wash. Dry COMPLETELY (dry with paper towels then put on medium high stovetop burner until dried). LIGHTLY coat with oil and store. I guarantee if you do this IT WILL NOT RUST. This isn't rocket science. It is not Teflon, don't treat it as such. CI may require a little extra care but it will last forever. I recommend a chainmail scrubber to clean off any stuck on food. Do NOT soak CI. Do NOT put in your dishwasher. Occasionally clean with original Dawn dish washing liquid. Once it's seasoned well, it becomes non-stick. Research how to care for CI, follow directions & it will last forever. Be smarter than the pan & you'll love it!
Love it!
This is the perfect skillet. I use it to cook proteins and vegetables and it cooks my food beautifully 😍. Easy to clean. Needless to say that it is a little heavy because it's cast iron. Overall great product for an awesome price!
Not good quality iron
I was using this pan for about 6 months about once maybe every two weeks, it cooks well but I dropped it on my floor and the pan broke in Half… I was really surprised, I don’t know if this is really cast iron I have never experienced any of my iron pans breaking in half. I’m giving this. 3 star because it cooks my steaks good but for it to break later down the line really was a bummer.
Victoria high quality commercial grade cast iron
Victoria cast iron just found a new fan. Had not heard of this brand before, after seeing the poor quality/features Lodge is pushing out the door. Victoria skillet is so much higher build quality. I seasoned once in the oven, and then onto making cornbread to test heat distribution and general performance, everything went well, cornbread released with zero sticking. The Victoria brand seems to build seasoning very well, better than most. If you are needing a great quality cast iron, get Victoria
Maybe all these people with the negative reviews should actually learn proper care for a cast iron pan. It actually is quite simple. I do have to say I wouldn't trust the food coming out of their kitchens. If they
Great quality product
If anyone has anything less than 5 stars to say about this skillet they are crazy. They also must not be acquainted with cast iron because this is a quality and carefully thought out design.
My Favorite Brand of Cast Iron Skillet
I think that Victoria cast iron skillets are the best cast iron skillets to own. I have owned the 12 inch Victoria skillet for several years and now I purchased the 10 inch Victoria skillet. They are the only cast iron skillets that I want to use because they are substantially lighter in weight than others which makes them easier to lift and handle yet they are still very strong. The two that I own have high sides which are great and make them more versatile for cooking. They come with a lifetime guarantee.
Great pan
Love this pan. Great family size. A little heavy but thats expected. Food comes right off of it. Looks nice for now I store in my oven because I use it so much. Will probably put 2 hooks one for this and the matching 10" I bought. The helper handle is extreemly useful as is the pour spouts on sides!
4th Victoria cast iron I have purchased
I love this brand and these cast iron skillets. I have bought two 12” skillets as gifts after being pleased with their 10” pan. I seasoned one before gifting it and was impressed and picked one up for myself. I just finished seasoning it 2 times and used it today. I have a 25 year old Lodge without helper handle and this Victoria is about 4oz lighter with a better handle and nice helper handle. I think it is a better design than the currently available Lodge 12” skillet.
I LOVE THIS CAST IRON COOKWARE!!!
I just got it 20 minutes ago and promptly seared some short ribs. It performed PERFECTLY right out of the box....just a quick wash. No sticking...no burning...no problems and the ribs were nicely browned. I had previously purchased a 10" with handle and used it to cook eggs...again perfect. That prompted me to go ahead and get the 13". I must have the whole set now! I absolutely love them. I have been using cast iron all my life and these are truly a step up. My old cast iron was MUCH heavier and as I age, these lighter ones are easier to manage. While the surface has a very slight texture....I actually love it more than the other smooth texture. Seems to brown better. And clean up was super easy. I just wiped it out and for little bits I used my scrubber.
Great cast iron skillet
Great quality nice weight and the circumference is actually 12 in. The two handles make it very easy to handle and I love the side spout for pouring it has great instructions for care. I read some of the negative reviews where persons complained that they had rust on their pan and other problems. This is because they did not follow the care instructions. Cast iron rust only when the user leaves it moist or damp. Take the time to read the enclosed instructions and you will be as delighted with this pan.
Nonstick in one week
I’m a cast iron novice who ventured into cast iron world for the first time. Initial seasoning - wash, dry, oil, bake- just once. Have been cooking, baking using this cast iron since it was delivered. After a week of daily use and care, I could start making eggs without sticking. So it took just one week for the pan to become nonstick even after cooking and baking all sorts of food everyday. Highly recommend it. The only thing I wish it came with is a silicon removable handle cover like some other products in the market.
black coating gets on food
Perhaps the black residue that got on my food (I threw it away) is what they think is pre-seasoning. I have washed it at least 10 times and the black film is still not gone. I have other cast iron skillets and have never had this problem. I haven't tried to use it again. When I have the time, I will continue to scrub it until all the black residue is gone and then I will season it and try to use it again. Too much work. And the pan is too heavy. I will use my smaller old one mostly. I wanted this one because it is large enough to hold Coq au Vin for 4-6 people and can go from stovetop to oven for that recipe. Hope I can eventually remove the black residue!
Insta rust
Arrived and once I took it out the package, tried to season it first before use and to my surprise it started showing signs of rust all over. I came back to read the reviews and noticed all the reviews that mentioned rusting had several thumbs down. Which seems suspicious as most reviews are usually balance. Perhaps someone is trying to cover up the real issue here. Which is the quality of this product. I wouldn’t recommend and if you proceed to buy, I would recommend buying with an expectation that you may have to return due to the rusting in the product. I’ll look into another brand that I’ve had better results from in the past
Love this skillet!!!
First.... I got a great price on this cast iron skillet. I was skeptical because it was such a great deal.
