This is listed as a 12.5 x 24 cage topper. It isn't. It's a 10.5 x 19.5 cage topper. After ordering it twice and receiving the wrong item twice and having to drive it back to the store to return it, I gave up. If you are looking for it for a 10 gallon tank, it'll be awesome. Comes with a food bowl and water bottle and the construction is standard quality.

Great idea, bad execution

I liked the idea of this "penthouse" for my rats. It is a great idea, but this cage extension is very poorly executed. The parts don't really fit together and the gap in the rooftop door makes me very uncomfortable.

SO FRUSTRATING

Fit perfectly!! But whoever decided to create and make this to sell. I don’t like you. It was making me so mad!! A 1000% not worth $50!! NOT WORTH IT!!! I am going to keep but I’m not happy at all. Very VERY CHEAP. Should be more like $30 or lower!!

Good design but poor material

This was the only tank topper I could find. I love that I can customize the floors and ladders. But the wire the cage is made of is a little flimsy.

So I’m late with this review because my habitat is now fully up and livable…But when I order this high rise I really thought my tank was 10gallons however that’s not the case because my tank was way bigger. I have a tank mesh cover already so I DIM (do it myself) and made 4 holes on to the cover and cut out a square area where they climb out of the tank so at the end we all win because they got a bigger tank use to their full advantage and I didn’t have to send the high rise back. Anyways triple check the size of your tank before ordering OR do what I did and make it work for you!

Leaves no room won't stay on top

You can not reach down to get the hamster for play time. It pops of the aquarium it does not add space in the cage. I wish I had never bought it.

Breaks easily & NO Chewy response

When it arrived, one of the little pieces was already bent flat and when I tried to gently straight it how it should be, it broke off. then when attaching a basic small wheel to it, one of the metal bars just broke. Way too easily. I emailed chewy with my complaint immediately and never even heard back. DO NOT BUY!

Doesn't fit

Doesn't fit on the cage. Ended up returning it because it was to small to fit on my 10 gallon. The brackets don't reach the end of the cage.

Don't Do It

We bought this for my Son's hamster last December. She got her foot caught as the shelves shifted and ended up w/an open leg fracture that had to be amputated, after three days waiting for a Vet to see her.

[Rewarded Review] Works great for Gerbils!

This works great! Our gerbils are very happy. It's easy to off the tank for cleaning, and easy to put backon as well. The only thing I don't love is the long ramp. It's a little flimsy, and the sides are sharp. They should have trimmed the ends of the wire mesh before welding it to the frame of the ramp. Maybe mine is just a fluke though. All in all, it works great!

Great product

This is a great product and a lot easier to clean than our last cage. The only complaint is that it was missing a clip when we'r opened it.

Slightly damaged

The structural walls of the cage are good and sturdy but the attachment pieces with mesh wire came be t and some edges were sharp. Vent downward or trimmed to make safe for our gerbil. Holding up decently so far.

Great for gerbils

It's easy to put together. The only reason I gave it 4 out 5 stars is that I to make the first floor was one level.

So I personally think it’s great but only if you get a good deal on it, my hamsters love it but I will say that it is very flimsy if you don’t modify it and it’s a pain in the butt to reorganize the metal floors. (Also ramps don’t stay in place) but it’s VALUE for your money! Would not recommend anything bigger than a hamster.

Very happy with our purchase

The 2 mice we have love this additional space and makes adding toys easier. I also like keeping their food higher up to fill and keep clean.

Mouse high rise excellent

This fits a ten gallon tank like it said it did. My mice absolutely love it!! Just take you time putting it together. It’s just a little tricky figuring it but worth the effort. The directions aren’t the best.
