Since the louvers extend further in than the frame, the duct opening must be exact - and mine was not. I assumed the louvers would be flush with the frame.

Exactly as described (including outer dimensions). Sealed in plastic shrink-wrap so no corrosion from air exposure. Fits perfectly.

Truaire Stamped Return Air Filter Grille

Item arrived in damaged taped up cardboard (should have refused) but I didn't want to wait for another, so I spent about 45 minutes straightening the bent grill. It came with a 2008 date sticker on it, so I do not believe UPS was in any way responsible for its condition, as it seems it was laying around somewhere for years before sending it to me. Seller was blaming damage on UPS.

ok, not very sturdy

Flimsy and doesn’t stay flat against ceiling. Had to add glue to get it flush against ceiling.

Product okay. Shipping was extremely poor on part of retailer

Packed with bubble wrap on 5 sides. Of course banged in 9n 6th side that had zero bubble wrap. Item was put in box, then bubble wrapped except for that one side. Had to bend duct back into shape. This after $50 frieght charges asked of me AFTET I made the order.

For out application we needed a cover only - not an integrated filter that fits into the opening requiring another inch or so of depth. That is because our return hole had a stud in the middle of it so this product worked perfectly.

The grille arrived in perfect condition. The packing was amazing. As for functionality, it works just as it should. I mean, it a stamped metal return air grille. How hard could that be?

My G.C. couldn't find this size but with a quick search on Houzz I found it in seconds. Good quality and a reasonable price.

Good quality, accurate measurements

Thankfully Houzz carries odd sized return air grille. I was ready to order a custom grill after looking everywhere locally as well as a few places online! Quality of this grille is good - sturdy and well-made. Measurement info was clear on the site and, although our opening was 1/4 inch less than the grill needed, it still fit and we are glad to be able to replace the ancient, dented grille that came with the house when we bought it.
