Wrong specifications

Bought this item to install in an Airstream and needed low profile outlets due to the thin walls.

RARELY USED... DIDNT LAST 2yrs or 5uses

CANT even think the USB port[s] was used even 4-5x at most. Outlets fine, juts NOT charging ports.

Faulty Design - Do Not Purchase This Item

We built a brand new home. We chose Legrand switches and outlets for our entire home. We had fifty-four white Radiant USB Charges with Duplex 15A Tamper-Resistant Outlets installed. We are now having all of them replaced, just six months later. The tamper resistant feature makes the outlets almost impossible or, in some cases, literally impossible to use. The feature blocks the ability to insert a plug into the outlet. There is a definite design flaw in this product. Stay away!!!

Very difficult to plug a power cord into

I have 4 of these outlets - 2 purchased 6 months go and 2 purchased today (3/17/2020) at Lowes in Xenia Ohio. My reason for 1 star is the fact that it is very difficult to plug a power cord into either of the two 120V outlets. When plugging in a power cord there is some internal interference that prevents easy insertion of the cord. All of the power cords I have tried (new and old) require "jiggling" in order to eventually get the cord to insert fully. I wish I could be more specific but successful insertion is the result of random movements where you eventually get the cord to fully plug in, due to probability, rather than careful placement.

Although it was a standard outlet installation, nowhere on the package did it list it as a tamper resistant outlet. Because of this feature it males it difficult to use the 110 volt when the usb is being used and vise versa. A non TR plug would but much more user friendly. Additionally the screwless required cover fits poorly on boxes that aren't perfectly lined up with the drywall opening. leaving gaps on the cover plate that wouldn't be there on a screw on plate. The cover plate is difficult to remove. I'd never buy another one.

Total garbage

Bought 3 to install in the bathroom and bedroom. Got the first installed and tested it out. The electrical outlets have poorly aligned connections and you have to fight to get anything plugged in. One plug wouldn't let anything be plugged in at all. The USB plugs work but feel loose. An outlet that can't accept a plug is worthless.

Purchased this outlet as a test run for redoing the entire house. So easy to install, although when removing the existing electrical boxes the recess may have to be widened to accommodate the larger space required for the new UBS charging outlets. Took like 15 minutes and I am not what you would call a professional grade electrician. Well worth it to have the charging station in the den, out of the way. Will be installing in the rest of the house as soon as this remodeling project is done.

The outlet is a little tricky to install the wires for a weekend warrior. I prefer the type that allows you to place the bare wire into a slot and tighten the screw. This outlet requires you to take off the entire screw and place the wire into place while trying to reinsert a tiny screw and a holding plate. A pro would cruise through this. A weekend warrior who installs a new outlet every two years will struggle.

[Rewarded Review] Free up your power socket with two built in USB

We replaced a standard duplex receptacle with the Legrand replacement receptacle. It was a 20 minute job. We flipped the breaker in the garage to make it safe to work on the receptacle. Then we removed the old duplex and straitened out the wires that were wrapped around the screws on the old one and were happy to see that the new outlet let us just push the wires into a pinhole on the back of it. No having to wrap the wires around a screw. Just insert and you are done. Make sure you follow the color code white/black. You do have to screw the ground wire to the chassis of the new one. Anyway the added dual USB charger plugs freed up the two power plugs for other devices. This worked out great on our kitchen counter top.

You never would think that adding something as simple as a USB into an outlet would make such a huge difference in my everyday life. Mostly everything today uses USB to charge, so being able to place my USB directly into the outlet without a plug just makes it easier. I know it's something simple but it just makes a huge difference. I can still plug in other appliances as well, which is great because I usually charge my phone in my kitchen using a USB cord and a plug. Now I can keep my things plugged in and charge my phone. The graphite color really brings something extra, it blends so well with my backsplash and gives a cool look to my kitchen.

We loved this so much we went and bought 8 more to install. We are a huge technology family, so we have a ton of devices. This outlet was so simple to install, only too about 15 minutes to get it up and running. It was really easy, I was really pleased with how simple it actually was. The outlet looks really nice when install, loved that it comes with the cover with it. Having USB ports right on it is so much better because you don't have to worry about finding more wall adapters and you are able to charge even more devices with it. It charges at a great speed also, which is a huge plus. Now we can free up the plugins for other things instead of having them all taken by the electronics we charge. Very happy with this outlet, we have put some in every room and will probably buy even more. I'd love to have ALL our outlets be these - that is how much I love it.

This duplex outlet is great it has 2/ 3 way plugs, which is a neccessity in my home as I have mostly traditional 2 prong plugins in my walls. I am able to charge my laptop with ease. I love this product has usb charge as well my phones, tablets etc can charge fast up to two devices at a time. The color and its functions are very upscale and modern. The color is very dark and shiny very appealing to the eye and very new/different. The tamper resistant shutters protect my children from electric shock. This product was very easy and straightforward to install, I replaced a 2 prong with this duplex outlet and just turned off breakerbox labeled exsisting wires , disconnected unwanted 2 prong outlet, removed outlet and replaced with duplex outlet with corresponding wires as shown in booklet diagram and restored power and it worked perfectly! Definately feel like this product will last a longtime in my household and is needed around my home, will purchase more in near future.

The Legrand radiant® USB Chargers with Duplex Tamper-Resistant Outlets is such a simple and smart idea. It allows charging for USB devices while still leaving room to use other appliances that plug it. I have it in the living room where I am able to charge devices without unplugging our house phone and light. It also charges the device faster than before. Installing it was really simple and somthing my husabnd did really quickly. I am planning to replace an outlet in the kitchen and in the family room so I can have this option there too.

No one has ever said they have enough electric or USB plugs in their home. Plus most USB plugs are large and bulky covering you electrical plates, so it is makes it worse. I was given the chance to sample this product from tryitsampling in excgange for my honest opinion. This is great for most everyone because we all have something to charge! Great for phones, tablets...ANYTHING that requires a USB plug! The install was very easy, requiring basic knowledge on outket install. Always Youtube if you are not a DIY person! I get daily use of this outlet. It charges things quickly! I already bought two more for other rooms my house!

Love these! I have added 3 to my home so far. The installation is simple and having the convenience of just plugging in my usb device without having to unplug something else is fantastic. I installed the first one in the kitchen and instantly noticed how helpful it is. I am able to charge my phone while watching my favorite shows and keep on cooking using the outlets. After trying the first one I had to get more! I added another in the living room and it’s great to just be able to plug into the usb without having to unplug a lamp to do so! The one in the bedroom makes life simpler for us: no more worries of unplugging the alarm clock by accident! These really do make a difference and such a great quality, definitely will be adding more!

I love this outlet. It has a sleek design with a flat panel and simple lines. The built in USB outlets are a necessity these days as almost everything comes with a USB charging cord, but not an actual plug adapter. We used these for our remodel and are going to purchase the Legrand Intuity Hub so we will be able to control the light switch from the app. If your junction box has a lot of wires it may be hard to get everything to fit into the box, but overall the installation was easy. This product is perfect for anyone doing a remodel or building a new house because it instantly modernizes a dated room and adds convenient USB outlets for charging devices without taking up outlet space for other electronics.

If you have ever installed your own outlet or switch, this Legrand radiant will be very similar. The hardware appears to be high quality and the wires were easy to simply insert into the back of the unit and screw tight. The fit and finish is top notch. I gave this device four stars because I'd like for both ports to provide 2.1 amps when used at the same time. In this instance, it only provides 3.1 amps total. If the next version provided 4.2 amps or USB-Power Delivery, it would easily earn my five star review. For now, this is a really good product on the edge of greatness.
