Excellent stair gate

This is a fantastic stair gate, once in place it stays put and doesn't wobble. The gate locks easily and can be opened easily, but is too difficult for even a very curious toddler to open. The gate can be locked to only open one way using a clasp at the bottom, or locked so it won't open at all using the clasp either side of the bottom, giving an added secure feature. The gate is easy to install and fits well in spaces as per the sizes given on the description.

Works great but missing a piece

We bought the 2 pack and installed the first one and it worked great! But we can't locate the adhesive /plastic circle to install the second one in the box. Is there a way to have the circle adhesive /plastic pieces mailed to us? 5 stars either way so far!

I would buy it again

I would have given it five stars but there is one issue I have with the gate. The magnetic safety lock tends to work too well. I usually end up climbing over the fence because the lock won't budge. I finally just placed tape over the magnet and used the swing stoppers at the bottom of the door to keep the door secure so my one year old Chocolate Lab can't get in.. I do love it's look and it was fairly easy to install.

Happy with gates

I purchased this gate from local store. This gate installation is very easy and its durable for longer period of time. It does not fit for my stairs but it fit for downstairs. This is very adjustable according to your need. I live it. The material is wooden. This is one of the great products.

We adopted 2 special needs kitties last summer and the gates I was able to find locally had horizontal bars. Despite having issues walking, we soon learned that the kitties were determined to climb! Vertical bars solved that, altho they required a bit of ingenuity to keep the furbabies from crawling thru the bars! We wove cardboard between the bars as a temporary fix and the kitties are safe (much to the chagrin of the pups!). The gates have become a permanent fixture in our lives, and they are very user friendly with the walk thru gate!

Will stop recommending

I normally recommend this brand to new parents. Affordable and normally crafted well. I had put 2 of these on our baby registry as well as a few other safety first products. One of the two gates the locking mechanism started to get harder to open and close. It has now finally become impossible for my wife to open. Very disappointed to read this happens often. Afraid quality in the other products may soon suffer as well unless the company intervenes.

Ouch!

It's definitely sturdy but it is too hard to unlatch. We have it at the top of our stairs so we have to go through it several times a day. After a day, the joints in your hand hurt after needing to use so much hand strength to open the latch. I am due with my 2nd baby and don't think we will be able to keep the gate there because I won't be able to open it one handed.

Do Not Buy

This gate is a piece of junk. I bought one and it worked for about four weeks, then the bottom button on the latch stopped working, so the gate could not be opened. I ordered again, hoping it was a fluke, but this time the gate arrived with the very same defect. I 'll look for something from another manufacturer. I would certainly never buy a car seat here!

Good gate . Latch sticks

I use this gate for my toddler and my dogs . I bought 2 over 2 years ago and they were fine . Had to replace them recently and the auto close is great but the latch sticks and is loud and wake our toddler. You need to put a lot of pressure to open which causes it to be loud . Emailed customer care waiting to hear back from them . Might have to return them if the latch problem can't be fixed

Lock gets stuck. Hard to open.

Really dissapointed... We bought this baby gate 1 week ago and it worked great for about 3 days then the lock became so hard to open.. even with 2 hands as an adult I can't get it sometimes. I Have to put my baby down on the ground everytime and try to pry it open with 2 hands. Not convenient at all. Hurts my hands also, thats how much pressure I have to put to open it. Really sad about this because I love everything else about the gate ...

Don't buy this it's junk

After one week the latch became inoperable and impossible to open. Need help from the manufacturer. No help or contact us info on the web pages. Take it back to the retailer. A major headache. Find another product. You'd be doing yourself a favor.

The best gate we've bought!!

This is one of they best gates we've bought! It is super easy to install, I'm talking about in minutes this is up and ready! The best part is it's not flimsy at all and stays put even with a lot of force! I have two boys that constantly pushed and pulled on it and it never moved! This gate definitely did what it says and kept my boys safe from our steps. I honestly cannot recommend this enough! If you have little ones and are looking for a perfect gate, this is most definitely it!

Latch isn't reliable.

While we like the ease of the one-handed opening, my preschoolers quickly figured out how to open the gate. Within two weeks of installation, the mechanism inside stopped working and the gate would no longer latch. My husband took it apart and looked at all the pieces. Everything seemed to be in working order, but the gray piece wouldn't pop out, so the gate won't latch and lock anymore. I'm definitely disappointed.

Super baby gate!

We switched out our previous baby gate with this one and wow! What a difference. We placed it at the top of the stairs to our basement which we always forget to close but not with this gate. It automatically closes, so when I have things in my hands I can hear it shut on its own behind me. The worst feeling is not remembering if you closed a gate and thinking your kid is going to come tumbling down. We really like this gate, it was easy to put up and our almost 2yr old has not figured out how to open it.

I would not buy this gate again

The gate was easy to install, closes behind pretty quick to keep baby out. However after about a week the top button broke making it very difficult to open one handed. I have to push the button down with 2 hangs squeeze the bottom button and shake the gate up and down till it opens. Not very helpful when you have a sleeping baby in your arms and you want to take them to bed.

Expensive forever locked door

Thought I was purchasing a great gate. Expensive, auto closing, easy open, easy install....oh my goodness.so expensive was worth 5 stars, auto closing also 5 stars...has this cool feature where you can let it swing both ways or make it a one way swing either way auto close worked amazing, easy install I'd give it a 3 star but that's mainly because my home has lots of fancy annoying bull nosing in some places and not others and all these weird custom doorways. Now easy open, if there was a way to give negative stars I absolutely would. The gate worked great for all of 16 hours, trained my oldest to open it so him and his brother could access their play area without our youngest getting hurt, hence the need for an easy open auto closing gate in the first place. 3 times. He opened this gate before you couldn't push the button in to open the gate. Hubs came home removed the gate from the wall got it open and looked at it "repaired" it, put it back up and 2 uses later same thing. We can not have a gate that doesn't allow my children to come in and out, I am not going to wash the carpet or floor or their clothing everytime the darn thing decides to not function and they wet themselves. This is super annoying as we ordered the gate it took 9 days to get here and it no longer works. The solution I was given was to send it back and order an new one which isn't a solution in my opinion. Overall I'd avoid this particular gate and find something cheaper to purchase. 10 stars not worth the time or money to go through all this and then return it.

Just a headache.

I have two of these and when it's working it's great, but it's easy for it to all fall apart because of the poor way this gate is designed.

Do not buy this gate. We bought 2 for our home so we could easily come and go through the major areas in our house while also keeping our crawling baby safe. Within a day of setting them up, one already had a seized lock mechanism and we could not open the gate. Thankfully Wayfair had another one sent out to us asap for replacement. Then within a week, the second original gate failed as well... sadly I have not had a moment to come on until now - and the replacement window has now lapsed. So we have paid almost $200 for one that has been replaced, and another that is broken. I am so angry. These things are junk.

For use in homes with smart dogs, not so much in homes with uncoordinated adults or tweens.

Smart dogs can't open it, which makes it better than the wood ones. However it takes a lot of strength and dexterity, so my kid can't open it either. If I need her to go downstairs (or upstairs), I have to open it for her. Super annoyimg when we go up together and she insists on walking in front. It is also difficult for me to open with my nondominant hand, so i can't be carrying stuff in my dominate hand, a bit frustrating
