Received my farmhouse sink today , contractor installed it, he said all instructions for installation were easy to follow. The sink is beautiful. Fit perfectly . Size was exactly as noted. So happy with my purchase .

Initially skeptical because of size and only having one basin but turned out to be a great purchase. Well made and large basin makes for a great wash area. I like the short apron and looks good in my medium sized kitchen.

I don’t know if I got a lemon but this Kohler sink it’s awful crack from the corners and scratches and stain so easily . I bought an open box but the after problem do not have nothing to do with was happening now. I’ll add pics later . If u use ur sink just for display lol go for it

This is a GORGEOUS sink. Cast enamel is the best and while this sink is expensive, it is worth every penny. I also purchased the stainless steel tray and sink drain to complete the look. Very happy with this beautiful farm sink.

Advice for scratching!

Purchased this sink and absolutely loved it! A few days later, after my contractor installed the plumbing, to my horror (I had just had the marble counters installed over it, so there was no replacing the sink) I noticed scratches all over the apron. I showed my GC immediately and he honestly looked like he was going to cry, as he admitted it was from his wedding ring. I phoned Kohler and they told me not to worry, if I could not "feel" the scratches, they would come off. They likened it to when someone hits your car and leave their paint on your surface. Kohler was kind enough to send their cleaner and told me to scrub it with a cork. I received the cleaner and did what they said with unfortunately no results. I was feeling angry, sad, and defeated, when thankfully I remembered that I had some Le Creuset cast iron cleaner that had taken the scratches immediately off my cookware. I used the Le Creuset cleaner with the cork and all of the scratches were completely gone from my sink within 30 seconds. I am writing this review so that nobody else has to go through the worry of their beautiful new sink being ruined forever.

Over the moon with this humongous sink. It does have a little bit of an orange peel texture, but that was not unexpected and does not bother me. The slope toward the drain is effective but not noticeable. We put a 2x4 block in each corner to support its weight. Regarding how easy it is to scratch, as so many reviewers have reported, they are not scratches! The temporary marks are made when a metal dish or pan rubs or bumps against the enamel sink. As a result, it leaves a little metal behind. They are easily removed with a little Bar Keepers Friend and some elbow grease. The enamel is unharmed. Even though the kitchen budget was very tight, Im happy I splurged on this cast iron sink.

I received my farmhouse sink and I am so in love! It’s gorgeous, very heavy, very large with plenty of room to wash large pots and pans. My cabinet maker also prefers this self trimming sink for a seamless install. I purchased this sink for our new home build and I couldn’t be more happier! I highly recommend. Wayfair has excellent customer service and are very easy to work with. Don’t hesitate. Buy the sink!

Be forewarned. The sink DOES NOT come with the cut out template needed to install it. You must call Kohler and request they send you a template. Having said that, this 36 Kohler Cast Iron sink (in white) is a piece of art! Its gorgeous in its simplicity, super heavy (well, it is cast iron) and the white enamel surface is very smooth to the touch. I have not installed them yet (I bought one for the kitchen and one for the mudroom) but I think they will look beautiful in my farmhouse. I wanted a sink made from a strong and durable material that could withstand the wear and tear of hand washing Le Creuset cast iron cookware in the kitchen sink and basically everything else in the mudroom (utilitylaundry) sink. After researching many options, including Fireclay (which felt very fragile to me - one hit of the cast iron cookware on that fireclay and Im convinced the fireclay sink would have shattered) to soapstone (beautiful and durable but too dark for my current design) I chose the cast iron sinks. So glad I did. They really are a work or art!

What a dramatic difference this sink makes in our kitchen! We have 41" cabinets, so I had to build a custom support structure completely different from what the installation instructions detail, as they are for a 36" cabinet. But with some great teamwork from a fellow engineer, we got the sink installed in time for our countertop replacement. Shwew! What a week it's been -- and will still be, as the plumbing, faucet and drop-in gas cooktop work still have to be done. And some other mini-projects were spawned by countertop removal day today as well. We won't go into that! I will add some photos after the installation is complete.

We debated between this sink and a fireclay version. But this one is easier to retrofit to an existing cabinet. It wont crack and is more resistant to chipping. Its massive weight definitely requires careful reinforcement of the cabinet. Beware the installation instructions are not very detailed and the template for cutting the opening for the apron is much too large. Single basin is much more practical. Why anyone would still want a double basin with the advent of dishwashers is a mystery. The front apron makes more sense than a conventional sink, bringing the sink closer to you and eliminating the awkward front edge of the countertop to reach over.

Do Not Buy This Sink

This sink is not as advertised and chips easily. I was not going to purchase this type of sink out of concern for scratching and chipping. I was assured by the sales person it would not scratch or chip. Kohler's promotion actually guarantees this. As careful as we are, the sink has a series of chips and it is only several years old. Kohler said they would replace the sink. Big deal. The real cost is getting the plumber out, removing the kitchen cabinet facing which everyone acknowledges may be damaged in the process and potential damage to my expensive marble countertop. Replacing this sink will end up costing us a lot more more money than the price of a new sink in addition to the aggravation of getting the work done. We are extremely disappointed in how Kohler has handled this.

[Rewarded Review] The best sink for easy kitchen remodel!

The Whitehaven short apron is a great sink for an easy kitchen refresh. We were able to keep our existing cabinets and just had to replace the countertops. The install was a breeze and took less than 15 min. There were easy directions and videos online that made this an easy project for a normal homeowner. We have had this sink installed for about 6 months and it still looks brand new. The Cast Iron cleaner is the perfect way to keep my sink white. It quickly freshens it up and makes it look brand new. I would HIGHLY recommend this sink!!

I love my sink I will start by saying that. After 1 1/2 years of using it I would still chose it again. It is very heavy and so installation was hard but its heavy. I love the farmhouse look 5 stars there. I have to keep a spray bottle of bleach nearby and every few days spray it down. It does discolor If you dont. I am the kind that uses what I got I dont usually baby appliances or things like that. I want something that works for our family. It looks like at times it is scratched but after awhile those marks wear away. With a little bleach on hand it will look new again. Bonus, because bleach is killing germs in the process. So as far as my opinion I love it. I havent seen any other sink that doesnt have it cons and I would chose just doing a little cleaning over one losing its color like the black sink I had before.

This sink is huge...and quite heavy! The quality looks/enamel looks good. I didn't think it was going to be this large but for another $20 dollars or so I opted for it instead of the smaller one. With it still in the box, I had to see how many plates we could put in there at one time. We had 3 regular size (10.5 inches in diameter) plates in the basin of the sink! We haven't had a chance to use is yet because it is for new construction but is appears that it will drain well. The sink in our current home is large but it has a relatively flat bottom and food stays in it constantly. It doesn't help that the drain is in the middle which makes it hard to spray all of the food particles around to the middle without sending it all over the place. I think the Whitehaven sink is going to help with all of this since it slopes to the drain is at one end. The delivery time took a little while to get here so plan accordingly. We ordered it on May 30th and didn't get it until July 10th (~6 weeks). I'm going to go ahead and give it 5 starts and hope it will be all that we imagined.

Best. Sink. Ever. At our previous home we had a 48" stand-alone farm sink that was a real show-stopper - everyone commented on how beautiful it was! So when we recently down-sized and decided to do a mini-makeover of the kitchen in our new little bungalow, we wanted a similar look without having to replace the cabinets. Instead, we had them painted and we simply cut out the blank front below the existing sink, following the clear instructions and template provided by Kohler. (We're DIYers and the only tricky part was that we had an extra-wide 39" sink base cabinet, so we had to add some filler wood on each side of this sink but most folks probably wouldn't have that issue.)
