Great Product

Drive Medical is a very good and reputable company for medical products. This product works very well and helps me out tremendously for getting out of the bath tub. It's great that you can set it anywhere along the bath tub and remove it when not in use. It is heavy but that's necessary to support a persons weight. It's very strong metal-very hard to bend. The handle to tighten is easy on the hand, but the handle must be turned tightly for the clasps to take a firm grip. This item has a heavy coat of paint to prevent rusting which is a nice feature. I highly recommend this brand and product.

Grear Product for Great Value!

Bought this product for my Mom (~120lbs.) who has trouble getting in and out of the bathtub. With a few days of use, the product still seems to be in original position and holding strong. Just hoping the grab bar will last a long while.

Pretty helpful

This hand grip certainly makes it easier to get out of the tub. It's very solid when you are pulling on it into the tub as you were getting out. The reason for four stars, it would not be good for the severely immobile. If you end up pushing the opposite direction, it breaks loose. Also it can slide left and right along the tub. This is only good for a pulling motion into the tub. For that it functions perfectly.

The bathtub grab bar was just the perfect fit for my tub! It was so easy to install. Just twist the knob until it was secure and didn’t move! GREAT PURCHASE!

Excellent for added stability

This is very stable and well made. Needed extra balance after shoulder surgery to be able to utilize bathtub.

Weight limitations not listed.

Item looked good online. I was going to order it for curbside pickup but decided to just go get it at the store. Box blatantly states weight limit not to exceed 200lbs.

it does what its designed to do..

For me, the Drive bathtub shower grab bar works great I have no problem getting in or out of the tub. I would say tho, take your time while in the tub. Slipping is always a possibility so I have a large rubber mat that helps me keep my balance.

[Rewarded Review] Good product but have to retighten it periodically

Good product but I wish the rail were wider on it. You also have to retighten it from time to time as it begins to move when using so frequently.

[Rewarded Review] 100% positive - device works and easy to install

I have difficulty getting in and out of the bathtub and it came time to find some kind of tool to help me. This device is super easy to install and it works!! And it's not expensive. So basically a win win.

[Rewarded Review] Not sure

It doesn’t fit my older and I guess thinner bath tub. It moves a lot and I am fearful of it. I feel sure if my tub were thicker it would fit and be very stable!

Unsafe for textured or trimmed tubs

For my mom and dad. I had to return it though because it kept slipping. Their bathtub had a "trim" around the top about an inch down and the grab bar pads would not hold. It seemed a little hard to turn the knob also, which isn't good for elderly folks. They would need help every time the tub was cleaned. So I think as long as your tub is completely smooth, it may work for you. Hope this helps.

Good price, very sturdy, fits perfectly

This grab bar seemed very inexpensive compared to others so I was not sure if it was lacking in some way; but when I installed it on my mom's tub, it thought it was perfect: very strong and sturdy, and easy to install. The clamp self-adjusts, which was nice because the section of the tub where I attached it was a bit curved on one side; but the clamp angled itself snug and secure as I tightened it. I am very happy with this product.

I want up returning it, I don’t believe the “throat” (part that goes over the side) is long enough to grab the tub as much as it should.

To be determined.

I don't really know yet. I've been yearning for a way to get out of the tub (much prefer bubble bath soaks to a shower) and for 4 years haven't found a solution. I've only been able to try this once due to an accident that left me unable to soak for leg for a month and then wearing a heart monitor for 2 weeks that prohibited anything but showers. My solo experience was mixed. It attached easily but did loosen a few times during my adventure. It took me a lot of uncomfortable experimenting for 30-minutes to haul myself up. Now that I did finally find a way, I'm looking forward to trying it again. I do need to be positive it won't slip and result in an injury. Though I obviously have limitations, they shouldn't make it so difficult ("only" 180 pounds, legs somewhat weakened and core not great, but I can walk 1 mile plus with my walker (in addition to lengthy in-store shopping walking) and do some PT. My arms are relatively strong. Knees get sore and are somewhat resistant to bending (especially what I would call pretzel positions in the limited space inside a tub.) It would be very helpful if the company could put out a video with suggested ways to approach "the exit".

Great Tool for Safety

I'm pleased with this purchase. I feel safe holding on to this grab bar when stepping in and out of the bath tub. It's a good product at a reasonable price. Planning to purchase one for my mother. I highly recommend it if your balance is off or if you have weak knees or legs.

Great product

I bought this product because I love to take baths, but due to a hip replacement, it is hard for me to get out of the tub. This product is great. It is well made and very sturdy. You need to remove the screw entirely , level the two parts between the tub rail, and screw the screw all the way in. Anyone can do it, no tools are required. Thank you for this product.

My apt run was deep & I was going to have back surgery. This helped a lot getting in & out. I will be keeping on after I recover. Easy to put on - works like a vice place it where to want it & tighten. Test it to make sure it is firm. And it is easily movable too.

This grab bar was easy to install on our tub, which has a curved inner edge. There was just enough of a straight piece to fit. You would have to gauge your own tub if you have this type. It seems very secure, and the "no drilling" method works well.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this was to install. I was worried that it wouldn't fit or that it would be flimsy. It was not. I feel confident that this will help my 88 y.o. mother to continue with her determination to remain independent. It has helped with her confidence and safety in the bathroom.
