The new toilet seat was easy to install, closes as softly as advertised and feels stable when sitting on it.
Easy to assemble, no tools required. Web site has videos that are clear and easy follow.
The best part of this toilet seat is that the lid does not slam down. It goes down VERY slowly.

This is a nice quality & sturdy toilet seat, replacing a wooden one. I like the plastic ones, they're easier to clean & don't crack or chip. It was an easy install. It was more money than I had hoped to spend, thus the reason I gave it 4 stars. The fact that it's slow close makes up for the higher price a little. White was cheaper, but we needed bone. Hopefully it'll last a long time & then I won't complain much about the price...but everything costs a fortune now! I'd still recommend it.

Poor installation, poor quality, poor product
I agree with those complaining about the flimsiness and poor fit of this seat. Add to that the fact that whoever designed this apparently has never installed a toilet seat before. The "new and improved improved" bolt is awkward and goes on with difficulty, and the cheap plastic tool packaged with it is too large to fit in the constrained area under the seat. Moreover, the tool actually *did not fit* one of the two plastic bolts. I bought a second Bemis seat but will be returning that one.
It was very easy to install only took minutes and I'm very pleased and satisfied with it so far
