Will not last

After a few years the upper part of the bracket will split in to two pieces. The bad part is the fifteen year warranty is useless if you don't have the receipt. I contacted the manufacturer and they never got back to me.

Easy upgraded curb appeal

I was able to install this with no instructions. Very simple, straightforward parts. The fixture fits snugly over the wooden post, needing no screws to secure it. It looks amazing once assembled.

It's hollow on the inside...?

It looks nice from afar, up close the hollow materials haven't been trimmed so there is flash around a good deal of it. Also required a lot more tools than we suspected. Just OK for the price.

Inexpensive mail box for a reason.

It’s cheap for a decorative mail box. Just remember, you get what you pay for. It’s ok for a temporary fix as ours was knocked down but it is an inexpensive mailbox and looks like one.

Flimsy easy to assemble.

Looks good however its a bit flimsy. Thats is a disappointment. I wanted more hardware like was shown in the assembly instructions. I don't that think that would help with the flimsiness but it could not have hurt.

Disregard the review that says the top portion of the sleeve requires the post to be 3x3-- this isn't true. A regular 4x4 post fits the whole length, it just takes a bit of elbow grease to squeeze the sleeve onto it. My husband did that part. Otherwise super easy assembly, super affordable, zero maintenance, and looks GREAT.

I purchased this post. it literally only came with a post. No newspaper box or ledge to mount the box to.

Look Elsewhere

Please save your money. They cast these in a mold and the finish is absolutely atrocious. There are deep scrapes all over, corners that are badly damaged, black scuff marks that won’t come out. The finish is textured so it’s not your typical smooth pvc post jacket and won’t clean up well. Worst of all is the entire post is bowed like a #3 2x4 and it’s not something that will bend itself back to straight once it’s on a 4x4 post. We are just extremely disappointed. I almost never write negative reviews but this was more than enough to warrant one. Terrible job by Mayne on this product.

Super Easy to Assemble + High Quality

High Quality, Easy Assemble

Overall great but some design flaws.

First, I must say it looks beautiful and was relatively easy to install. We get a lot of compliments. However, I do wish that some things were clearer. 1) They include a small wooden component to put in the section that you are supposed to install the mailbox under. However, they do not include in the instructions that you should insert it, so we had to remove that part and insert it afterwards. It helps with stabilizing the mailbox. 2) The flower bin has a portion of it that is open all the way down but it doesn't include drainholes down there. I used the cracks and gaps to fill it in, but they should've accounted for water getting stuck down there. Otherwise, I think it's great.

Good Quality

It doesn't come with a bracket for your mailbox.

I like this post and mount enough to buy the exact same one after the snowplow took out my original one. I already had a 4 x 4 in cement. This just slid down over the existing 4 x 4. There are two bolts and two screws that hold the bracket in place. You don't have to put on the decorative box though I've seen people use it with fake flowers for holidays all year long.

Attractive for the price!

The price for this item was attractive. The kit requires a few supplies not included in the kit. That was a surprise. This kit also assumes a full-height 4x4 post pre-exists. Our 4x4 post was not full height, which required some creativity to remedy.
