Triple duty in our bath

I LOVE this purchase. I wanted to have the ability to play music when I was in the tub or shower, but we were running out of space for a speaker somewhere with all of the lights and art on the walls in the bathroom. This did triple duty! An extra light, a fan and music. The music is clear and has enough volume to be heard over shower water running. I totally recommend this item.!

Great Little Fan!

I am really loving this little bath fan! It was the perfect size for what I needed. The built in bluetooth speaker is just a fun added bonus.

I am not someone who DIYs anything so I did have my handyman install this as a replacement for a 40+ year old shower fan already in the bathroom. First I will say I LOVE THE LIGHT! My last fan was so dim and my bathroom and shower were so dark. Not anymore. Super bright without being obnoxious. The Bluetooth is seamless and connecting to my phone took less than 10 seconds. I have a two switch for the fan. So one switch controls the light and speaker and one switch controls the fan. If you turn the light off the speaker turns off as well which I like because you wont accidentally connect to the Bluetooth if the light is off (which it always is if Im not in there). The fan also works great - but I expect nothing less from this brand when it comes to the fan. The only reason for 4 stars is that I do wish it would get louder. When I am in the shower sometimes its hard to hear when Im listening to podcasts where someone speaks quieter. Definitely recommend!

We bought this product to replace an old exhaust fan above the shower. The kids love listening to music in the shower, and so do we. We were hesitant to buy based on reviews but it works just fine for us. Yes, you do have to go up into the attic which is a huge pain in the butt. My husband had to go up with a respirator and crawl along joists and insulation to install it. But unfortunately thats the nature of the beast when replacing these things. As far as the sound quality, you can hear the music fine over the fan as well as over the shower. We have a rain shower over stone tile on the floor which isnt necessarily quiet when water runs. But the sound is just fine, we can hear the music over all of it very clearly ....I mean its a shower speaker...not a home entertainment system. Someone in a review mentioned a protective covering being over the speaker, which may hinder sound quality if you dont remove it. But we obviously removed it and have no problems. Bluetooth connection is a piece of cake on my iPhone as well as my sons Samsung phone. Turn the fan light switch on, make sure your Bluetooth is discoverable, and it will pop up in the list of devices. Turn the switch back off to disconnect. Overall we love it and it works awesome for us!

I used this to replace an older Broan model with the same dimensions. First of all, was not happy with Home Essentials Direct. This was sold as "new", but clearly it was a return. You could tell where packing tape had been ripped off the box previously, the tape job was not very good. No installation hardware - just the fan, the grill, and the instructions....kinda wadded up in box. So I was skeptical going in to the project, and after reading the negative reviews; particularly the speaker complaints, was already in a "if it doesn't go easily and perform excellently, I'm returning it today. Only difficulty in removing is my house is older, and there are challenges there. Bathroom was remodeled a few years ago, and the ceiling was built around the fan. Anyway, after 5 trips to the attic (including one to fix a wire connection that had worked loose), it lit right up and the fan started working. So I decided to test the speaker, expecting a tinny, quiet sound. And wouldn't you know it....that's exactly what I got! Oh my, it sounded awful...at least, what I could hear. It was extremely muffled. Then I decided to climb the ladder and remove the scratch-resistant plastic film over the grill....wow! It's loud! Wow! It's clear. Makes me wonder if previous complaints were for the same reason. It's possible you got a lemon. But isn't it also possible the problem is on the screwdriver side of the equation?

If you want the ability to control the light/Bluetooth speaker and the fan separately, as the instructions suggest, make sure you utilize two switches for this application. If not, you will have to run both simultaneously which at sometimes will interfere hearing the speaker at low volumes. I havent been outdoors while in operation though I suspect the neighbors are rockin out with me whether they care to or not! I connected with an iPhone 8plus and if I raise the volume past mid level, the volume begins to decrease. This may be due to distortion but may be all the range of the tiny speaker. Broan is in my opinion reputable and always worth purchasing. Yes, Im satisfied with my Bluetooth-lighted-speaker-fart-fan purchase ;)

It's a basic light/vent with a cheap speaker in it. The audio quality was expected, so I don't really have an issue with that. First time I used it, it connected via Bluetooth with no issue. I only wanted it to listen to audiobooks while showering/pooping anyway, so great. The next day, I needed to take the Browns to the Superbowl, figured I'd put on Yanni to ease the process, but it wouldn't connect. Says to myself "eh, Bluetooth can be finicky sometimes" then started troubleshooting. Flipped my phone's Bluetooth off/on. Nothing. Flipped the light off/on a couple times. Nothing. Reset phone. Nothing. 'Forget this device', and attempt to reconnect. Fan Speaker (That's it's Bluetooth gamertag) is nowhere to be found. Tried from a different device. NOTHING. The Browns still won that day, but to complete silence. A few days later, it randomly popped up in my discoverable devices. OH HAPPY DAY. Took my steamy shower with my steamy Fifty Shades. Next day. Nothing. I mean, this thing was a huge PITA for me to install, so I'm not ripping it out to return it. I'll live with the fact that I paid $90 for $30 light/vent with commitment issues.
