Okay product. Some design flaws. The screw after installed leave some burs which could damage fabric. Maybe some clear instructions on the position of the braces. Braces installed inside the awning arms may affect the closing of the arms

Very good value awning.

I bought the Outsunny grey awning from the Robert Dyas website. I’d say it’s good value for money. Delivery was quick and straightforward. The awning was relatively easy to install and looks great above my patio doors, giving useful shade into my lounge when the sun is out. It appears to be robust but only time and weather will tell! Would definitely recommend.

[Rewarded Review] A lot of work

The awning itself is as described and suits the purpose for the price. It has been left open during the continuous rain in the Northeast and has proven sturdy and waterproof. The color was true, but has started to fade after 4 weeks in the small amount of direct sunshine. However, the directions for assembling are HORRENDOUS! Whoever wrote them has obviously never put together an awning. The print and illustrations are too small and important steps are missing. Although I am experienced with projects like this, it took 2 of us 3 days to figure it all out with a lot of guesswork. Customer service was also horrible; I was told to watch a Youtube video. Probably won't buy from this company again.

The product itself is nice. The parts are aluminum, so tap or hammer gently. They will definitely bend. I used a wood block so I wouldn't bend the ends. The instructions and pictures leave a lot to be desired. Pay close attention to where they want you to stand when they refer to left and right arm and when rolling the canopy counterclockwise. You need to stand in the back of each piece, not facing it for the left and right arms to unfold correctly. Once the piece is assembled, it weighs roughly 60 pounds. You must have 2 fairly strong people to mount it to the wall.

An excellent awning but beware when fixing.

This awning is excellent and good value for money. Three cautions, however. First the expansion bolts for securing to the wall are not top quality. One knackered itself as I was tightening it. I replaced it with a RAWL2 M10 which is much better. I recommend getting these in the first place to use instead of the ones provided. They cost a couple of quid each. Secondly, when it says that you need to allow 8 inches clearance above any patio door, it is not clear what part of the awning mounting needs to go that far above the patio door. You need to remember that it is not just the awning material that needs to clear the patio door as it comes down but also the metal arms that unfold underneath the material. Allow plenty of room. Mine is not quite high enough, which means that I have to make sure the door is closed whenever I open or close the awning. Thirdly, I was not told in the ordering process that the size I ordered (3.5m along the wall) requires a third anchorage point in the centre. Since mine went over a patio door I could not do this and ended up putting two at one end (you can put them about a foot apart). Hopefully that will be good enough as 3.5 metres is only 20cm beyond the length that requires three anchorage points.

Installation

The product itself is well made and not to difficult to assemble. The problem is that on the very last page of the installation - it is designed to attach to a block wall. We had to attach to cement board but first we had to buy 2 1x6 boards find the studs and reengineer the middle bracket. It required a lot more than we expected and definitely could use three people to put up. It is awkward due to its size. You must insure that you have the brackets in exactly the right place and level otherwise it will not fit. Now that we have finished installing it is fantastic and well worth the money. I would compare to a manual sunsetter for a lot less money.
