Have had ours for about 2 months. We have a 450 sq ft ADU and it provides enough heat for the whole space, multiple rooms. While the look of a real fire is better than most, I had higher hopes for it to be just a bit more real, but over all we are very happy with it.

We ordered two of these fireplaces, one for upstairs and one for down; just under 2800 sq ft of space. They kept the house warm enough to drywall, about 60 degrees pretty consistently. Very happy with options and nearly real looking fire.

Somewhat realistic

I am returning it to get a larger one, 60"L. The log set is a plastic molded piece but good artistry. The glass crystals are real glass not plastic. Setting #3 in the color choice of 5 choices, has the blues & yellows in the flame so it looks the most realistic. I wish it were deeper as most fireplaces are and it would look more realistic yet. It is one of the deepest electric fireplaces I found though.

Enjoying the fireplace so far. Doesn't put out a ton of heat on our big living room but the ambience nice! Very nice looking as well!

Love my fireplace. I bought it to add to my new living room. Perfect for the price of this item. The different inserts make it work really well.

Great fireplace. Even bette in person. Vert realistic flames. I would definitely recommend it. The price was great and the quality is very good. I compared many different websites and overstock's price could not be beat

I really like this fireplace

This is a great electric fireplace. My family is really enjoying it. It is good looking and seems to be very well built. I would definitely recommend it.

infrared fireplace insert

this fireplace insert is pretty nice, looks great in our living room, nice flames and beautiful color, heat is nice since its infrared, it won't dry the air at all. best price on overstock so far.

Beware no installation instructions

First off the 1 star is for no installation instructions and absolutely no help from Overstock. Update: Overstock did reach out again to try and get me an installation instruction booklet but could not so instead the told me what the manufacture recommended so I appreciate the effort.

Overstock.com had the best deal on the product

I've been researching this particular product and finally decided to purchase it. Overstock.com had the best price available, even before the temporary coupon discount. I will eventually incorporate it into a DIY entertainment wall system. (One more home improvement "to do" on my list.) The delivery was quick and the product was in good condition, only one minor manufacturing flaw which is not visible and didn't effect performance. I find the faux flame effects quite good, and I like the various settings for flame speed/etc. Right now, since it's just sitting on the floor, and I'm using the logs. Other brands do have more realistic burning log effects, with red "burning" embers at the bottom of the logs, which make them seem more realistic. The logs in this unit are less impressive visually, so I'll probably try some other "fireglass" when I build my wall unit. The fan is a bit louder than I would prefer, but I'm not really using it as a supplemental heater. Multiple fan speeds would be preferable. All things considered, and merely based on checking it out right after purchase, I'm very pleased with it, and might even buy another one for my basement rec room. Once again, Overstock had the best deal. A major home improvement store still had it listed at almost three times the price. End of heating season is always the best time for this type of purchase.

We absolutely LOVE our DuraFlame Infrared Quartz Fireplace Insert! It is amazing and has really taken the "chill" off in our laminate wood floored, vaulted ceiling, open floor plan, geothermal heated home. They do not make a trim for this fireplace so my husband made ours out of wood trim (sorry, not shown in these photos), it works and looks great! This fireplace has so many flame size, speed and color options, not to mention the adjustable thermostat and timer (if you choose to have it shut off after a specified amount of time). The fact that this fireplace is energy efficient, has safety features and will heat up to 1,000 sq ft of space was one of the main selling points for us, like I mentioned we have an open floor plan home and most of the other electric fireplaces would only heat up to 400 sq ft, making this fireplace a no brainer choice for us. This fire place also has"life" size "logs" not twig looking sticks, of course you have the option to use fire glass only if you choose (we are using both) and the fire glass illuminates via the LED bulbs making them look like hot embers under the logs! This fireplace is also unbelievably realistic looking. Everyone who has seen it assumes it is a gas log fireplace and are amazed when we tell them it is LED electric. It is just beautiful and we could not be happier! I designed the wall surround for this fireplace and my husband built it. If you are considering this fireplace, you should definitely buy it, you will NOT be disappointed!

Realistic flames, love the different flame speeds. Added a few of the fire glass pieces for sparkle. Made brick sides and back by cutting cardboard and using markers to draw the bricks. It's in a custom cabinet that has a 3" open space above the top of unit to dissipate the heat after the heater is turned off. The sound of a fireplace comes from a retired smart phone with an app for a crackling fire. It looks nice.
