Not a bad unit for the price. It's a solid unit and heavier than the cheaper ones. The lights are not very powerful and I will need to replace them with stronger ones. I wish the low settings was a quieter. Also it's a plug in unit. Would be nice if I could have converted to a wired in.

The vent is nice and powerful. With power comes a little noise so know that. 2 people helping us a must but installation went pretty well. First delivery came damaged but second one was much better!

This is the second Empava range hood that was dented. the first one was dented on the side and the fan banged against it. After installing the second one we noticed a dent on the top right front of the hood. You need to look for it but it's there but at least the fans, lights and vents are working properly. The only way to fix the dent would have been to take out the fan,but we just don't want to deal with it anymore. The packing of each box was not damaged so can only assume this is going on in the factory. HD C/S reps were very helpful handling the issues.

Beware angle of the hood... not in product descrip

Product details don't match product. Turns out the rear of the hood is 6", but the front (nearest caninet edge) is 5.5". That half inch difference made the hood angle upwards once installed. Without serious modifications, it looked absolutely silly. Nowhere on the product description was it mentioned. Returned immediately.

The template was not the best but once the unit in place as desired one can make marks and rest is not too difficult. Two people is better. I asked my wife to help at some point. Works very well. She is happy so far.

Received the first one and was damaged badly on the front corner. Manager did a great job of taking care of us. Ordered a second one and had it delivered to the house. Again, was damaged on the front right corner but not as bad. The wife just agreed to keep it.

Was somewhat easy to install, works as it needs to. Design is quite boring, and there is a noticeable indent on the top right border, like other commenters have indicated.

Very functional product.. does what it is supposed to do. I was disappointed that my unit, once installed, revealed a bow along the top edge that created a gap to one side where the hood meets the bottom of the cabinet. It is definitely a problem with the manufacture of my particular unit as the cabinet base is straight and the hood was mounted properly. There were cheaper hoods out there but I went for this more expensive one, thinking I could avoid such problems. Possibly damaged in shipping.. Im disappointed given the cost

A great range hood for the price. I wanted a slimline, with stainless steel baffles, and at least 400 CFM. At a great price. This fit the bill. Had to send the first one back as it was defective and one set of fan blades wouldn’t turn. It was worth the wait, as it’s a very nice vent. As others have said, the template doesn’t match up, so you’ll need to do your own measuring - I made my own template using white paper. Also, you’ll need your own hardware. It’s meant for under a cabinet and screws into the bottom of a cabinet (which is usually .5 inch thick or less). You can’t use the 2” long screws they include. We actually got our own proper length bolts with wide metal AND rubber washers, and put the bolt in from the cabinet, down through the hood vent top holes. Plenty of room for the nut and end of bolt to reside in vent. Someone with small hands for threading the nut on is helpful. We’re very happy with it.

It is a nice range hood for the price much quieter than our old one. Looks good also. If your looking for a low cost range hood look no further this is the one. You will not be disappointed for the price.

The appearance and operation are adequate for the low price. Time will tell on the durability but I have no glaring concerns. I do think the installation instructions need a review. Example: the supplied template’s placement of mounting bolts was wildly incorrect (by inches).

Empava hood fan

We live in Florida in a small mobile home. We chose this hood fan because it matches our stove and we wanted to have a strong fan to suck out the heat and steam from the stove so our house stayed cool. Directions are vague but included template is good. The trim piece slides in the rear against the back wall. I would agree with others in saying the led lights could be brighter. We love this fan as it matches our new stove.

Does the job!

I love the entire product cost less than it would've to just purchase the fan which is what needed replacing separately purchasing through the manufactures. Simple system but effective.

Easy to install, easy on the eyes, and not too noisy.

It is exactly what I was looking for, cheap, easy to install, and easy on the eyes. I am selling the house and it was the best price for what I needed. I have zero complaints. It has good suction power and disperses moisture. It was super-simple to install with easy options for external exhaust or filtering and recirculating cooking fumes.

I had this installed, so I can't speak on that topic. It is esthetically pleasing. Definitely does the job of exhausting smoke and smells. Rather loud. The lighting is meh... but that was not a priority for me
