Good Quality

The installation was somewhat challenging because standard door lock installation kits don't include a guide for a 1 1/2" hole saw. I ended up creating my own jig to keep the hole saw steady. However, I was able to use the kit to make the hole for the latch. Despite the initial difficulty, I’m pleased with the overall quality of the product.

This type lock is hard to find. Home Depot had it. Easy to install. Read directions

The thumb turn did not line up properly

All good except the 360 image shows the exterior cap while this SKU does not come with that. Another SKU does, but the pic was inaccurate.

Garbage

Good look. Horrible design. Was replacing a KwikSet contractor grade cheap brass locks and door handles in the house. All of the keyed handles and keyed deadbolts were fine. I had hoped to match the house with this one-sided deadbolt. The KwikSet design was very intuitive and works fine. The Schlage design could possibly work with a newly cored door but not one that was drilled for the KwikSet. Regardless, just a very poor design and would be difficult to install.

They sent me a substitute knob that does not match the picture above. So now I have the hassle to return it and be delayed on my project. Very disappointed in Home Depot!

the mechanism is not a true turn, only a half turn. older models were full turn. I was surprised to find and just as surprised to see that the set does not include an exterior cover plate, duh? Maybe I did not see it in the description but what about it. Is it sold separately

Great quality lock. It didn't fit into the hole we already had in our door, but we were able to make it work. This requires a smaller than standard installation hole, so if you're installing in a door without a hole already, you'll be fine!

Nice, simple design and good quality. It was an easy install for a woman with no deadbolt lock experience. I had an old Arrow double keyed deadbolt with no keys. You can't access to remove screws without the key to turn the lock & plate which exposes the screws. I ended up using a pair of wire cutters to cut through the outer cap on the inside of the door that has the screws. Once I could peel the metal back, the screw plate fell out and I could pull the screws. Took just a few minutes in all. Was not paying a locksmith to remove what I wanted to throw away. I just wanted a simple thumb operated deadbolt and this one is perfect, good size for easy operation. I would have preferred antique copper but this is fine.

The Schlage B80 is a single sided deadbolt with a thumb turn on the inside and no trim on the outside (i.e., the hole in the door does not go through to the outside). The thumb turn can be attached properly to metal hollow core doors as well as wooden doors. The B80 is excellent for it's price and was exactly what I needed for my application. However, as most inexpensive deadbolts are, it's security level is rated at grade 2. For an entry, side, or back door to your home I would recommend a deadbolt with a grade 1 rating.
