Nice portable dehumidifier for my basement

I needed a dehumidifier for my basement in North Carolina, it gets pretty humid summers. This unit is nice because it is not as heavy as some others. I ducted it (bought 12" flexible ducting from big box store, cheaper) into my crawlspace and have the unit in my finished basement up on a shelf for gravity drain. Together, my space is less than 1000 sq feet, this should cover it well. Unit got my humidity down to 40% according to the reading. My normal setting is 50% humidity now for maintenance . It was March, about 68 degrees here. So far, so good have just had it two weeks. Happy with the price (it was on sale), cheaper than other retailers.

it's all a super nice made unit not much plastic all metal because of that i trust it under my crawl space of my house. the ones you get in stores are made of mostly plastic that can burn easily !! when something goes wrong it will burn up under your house !! the one i had i did not like to run it because of all the recalls you hear about that they start fires in homes and the time i had it for three years i think there was only a few hrs. on it because i was scared of fires!! this unit i just love!! thanks i feel good about it. from Dan Schwemer

Invest Now in QUALITY - Avoid Disaster Later !

I purchased the HD 55 Sentinel Dehumidifier about 3 weeks ago for the Crawl space below the home to avoid Mold ! ( Area about 1,100 sq feet - 4 1/2 feet in height shipped to my home 57 lbs. ) The machine has been running constantly for about 2 weeks... initial setting is 45 % ---( will move up to 55 % soon ) the area and insulation that was literally --WET-- is now Dry . I am very satisfied with the HD 55 !! Have it teamed with a Little Giant ( stronger model ) to expel water outside Crawl space. --------STRONG RECOMMENDATION!!!!! -- If the machine is going into a crawl space where access is limited --- SPEND the EXTRA money and BUY the REMOTE CONTROL unit MADE for the HD 55 by AlorAir Inc.... IT ATTACHES to A connection built onto the machine ; a 25 ' attached cable is snaked up into house through the floor into a closet ( or where ever ) --with a control panel . I JUST ORDERED IT !! YOU HAVE TO KNOW what is going on down under your house!! --- You can turn the unit ON and OFF PROPERLY with the attachment.... You will know humidity and TEMPERATURE level down there!!!! A Must ! My experience with AlorAir CUSTOMER SERVICE --HAS BEEN FANTASTIC.

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING

I chose this product because I am looking for an air purifier for my living room that is equipped with a real HEPA filter and a washable filter. For whatever reason, it was bigger than I expected. I like its UV-C lamp function, which uses ultraviolet rays to kill bacteria and viruses in the air. Since using this product, my breathing condition is better.

CLEAN THE AIR EFFECTIVELY

This is the first and only air scrubber I have. For high prices, I hope it can last for ten years. Time will tell everything, but I think that as long as the filter is replaced and the inside of the motor and fan blades are kept clean, it will run for a long time.

Great product ! after the usage of one week, I certainly feel the improvement of the air quality, it is obvious that the dehumidifier can control the dehumidifier well, and provide a healthy living environment for us, I will buy one more in the next week.

Easy set up

Very easy setup. Set to 60% then within a short time it was at the correct humidity. When checking on it from time to time I find it runs very little, great energy savings. Good value and works excellent.

The Little Engine that Can

I bought a house whose previous owner had hooked up a cheap dehumidifier, not designed for continuous use, in the crawl space. When that broke, I purchased the AlorAir. It was easy to connect and has been running at a steady clip ever since, keeping my space consistently dry on very little energy output. Be sure to read the manual to understand what the various lights mean (e.g., the power light vs. the compressor light). Once you get it set correctly, it runs on its own like a charm.
