"The perfect freestanding tent doesn't exi..."

I have used this tent for spring summer, and fall. I use this tent in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. I have used this tent for 2+ years now and and I still use it to this day.

[Rewarded Review] Easy to setup and spacious!

I bought this tent for front country and easy backcountry camping and have had a really good time with it in my recent camping! (in warm weather and no winds) Easy to set up, spacious, and sturdy. The packaging is very well thought out too!

[Rewarded Review] Good tent, Manufacturer has great customer service

I bought this two years ago for my son and it has worked great for him. It is truly a two person tent with plenty of room. During his last camp out one of the poles broke. I emailed Alps on a Saturday night and Monday morning I had a tracking number with absolutely no questions. The new pole arrived on Wednesday. I can't ask for anything more.

[Rewarded Review] True 2 person tent

I always partake in a mad amount of research before I buy ANYTHING, and after hours of research for the perfect two-person tent, I have come to decide that this would be the best tent for the price. ALPS is the most affordable tent brand without breaking the bank but having good features that compare to expensive tents. The aluminum poles are one quality that stands out from others within this price range and is of the main attraction. The floor of the tent is of a lower mm waterproofing than the chaos model but is not a deal breaker since you would use a footprint or tarp anyways. With having two vestibules you do not need to worry about storage for two, and this can tent also provides enough space for two plus size big Agnes sleeping pads that you can even sit on without touching the ceiling! The rain fly sits close enough to the ground that this tent can even be used for winter camping if wanted, I had slept within the lynx 1 within 4 degree F weather while there was snow and it was quite cozy, so I have confidence within the product.

[Rewarded Review] Alps Mountaineering Lynx 2

I bought this tent in the summer of 2022 basically as a backup to my Kelty All Inn 3. I used the Lynx 2 in Glacier National Park in late September mainly because the temperatures were in the low 30's. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the tent and how easy it is to set up. The only real cons to the tent are it's limited head room for 2 people when both are sitting up and its overall weight. However. When split between two people it is less than 3 lbs per person. For the money it is a good tent.

Worth It!

Great backpacking tent for the price. It's surprisingly spacious, and if you get a slightly larger footprint, the vestibule keeps your packs ad shoes clean and dry. Exactly what I needed and cheaper than the higher end brands with the same features.

[Rewarded Review] Solid, simple and comfortable

There are better tents out there, but the Lynx 2 is a solid tent for the $$$-conscious buyer. I find it very easy to set up and tear down, with plenty of space. The tent just served me well in the Hornstrandir, Iceland, and I look forward to more use on some multi-day hikes on the AT. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 in my book is that it's a little heavy, but that is truly my only complaint.

Fat guy in a little tent!!

6'3" 300lbs... This tent had way more than enough room for me and my gear, and was super simple to set up, which was great since it has been many years since I setup a tent. This was perfect and I even got it all back in the bag as it was supposed to... It was a miracle for me since I have a hard time filling an envelope. Also, I'm full time motorcycle and this package is perfect sized for my saddlebags with room for sleeping bag and pad all in the same side. I used a thick yoga mat this time, but I definitely need to find a good air pad/mattress for my next trip. Yes, looking to make tent camping a bigger part of my life, can't wait. See you out there. Highly Recommend!

[Rewarded Review] Very Quick Setup

I originally bought two tents for my grandsons and then bought a third grandson a different brand because he wanted blue. His brothers set up their tents so much faster and it left him frustrated. When it was grandson #4's turn, I looked at the Lynx 2 Tent again and it now came in a different color combo. I bought two more tents and grandson #3 will give his old one away. He is so happy to now set up as fast as his brothers! Thanks for the nice color change!

Purchased this tent for my Son who's in Scouts. Easy set up, easy take down that young scouts can handle. Durable, with #8 zipper and light enough for backpacking. I ave the three man, and just had a co-leader purchase the four man Lynx. All are very good products, we are all happy with our purchases.

Love my Lynx 2! Easy set-up, great features like the gear loft, and interior hanging loops are very handy for getting some of your gear off the floor. The vestibule space is enormous! The two door design allows me to store my packs, etc. in one vestibule and use the other for shoes and egress. No more climbing over my pack.

It looks great in the living room. May not get use until spring. Sportsman has been a good discovery. I bought a sleeping pad at the store in Medford Oregon. Nice helpful folks!
