grill is great for smoky flavor

the origional reason that I purchased an electric grill is because gas and charcoal grills are not allowed on the condos porch. I really didn't like te idea of an electric grill. However, after using it I found that the grilled flavor was as good as propane but I didn't have tobuy and tote the propane tanks, I never run out of fuel.

I have Meco Grills for well over 25 years using the grill almost every night. I usually go through 2-3 heating elements before I purchase a new grill. I'll never be without my Meco Grill!!

Great electric BBQ pit

I would give it 5 stars, but I HATE the tilting heating element. In all the years we have used the Americana tabletop (and we have used them for many years), I have NEVER found a need for the heating element to move. You really need to make it lock in place so that it will quit moving every time you open the lid. We love using the electric grills, especially in the summer so that we don't heat up the kitchen. We also have one we take with our RV to cook with when we travel and go camping. As I previously stated, it would get 5 stars except for the tilting heating element.

Short lifetime.

Cheap wiring to heating element. It burned out after about a year, I replaced corroded wire twice. After another six months and three rewiringings, I’m about to trash the grill.

To much

It was rated for a basic outlet but it popped both my outdoor breakers. Not sure how I’m supposed to use it if I can’t plug it in.

It is a great concept. I live in a condo so the grill size and ease of no propane is great. Unfortunately I had to return because it kept tripping the plug. I returned but purchased another one. Should be here soon. Hope it works.

Damaged

I wouldn’t give it any stars because it was broken when I received it. You couldn’t lock the grill handle in place to keep it from rotating freely. I want to order another one in hopes it would be fine when I received it but I’m very skeptical of that. Didn’t have any trouble returning it. Bought it online and returned it to the store. Very easy and quick transaction.

Nice looking, didn't work

I love everthing abouy yhis grill except for the fact that it didn't work, kept popping the breaker. I returned yhe grill today.

Bought for 2 campers. I have had the Meco Standup Grill at my home for over 18 years and still have it, I ordered these 2 tabletop grills one for me and one for family member to use when we go camping. This is a great grill, food tastes "grilled" and I don't have to worry about charcoal or propane. For ease of cleanup I put alum. foil in the bottom to collect the grease etc as well.

Great grill, great factory support

I've had this grill for many years. Recently there was an electrical failure in the control, and the factory sent me a box to return the failed controller along with the element. Just received replacements, no questions asked. Very polite and wanted to make it right. I am very impressed, and definitely recommend this grill.

Very nice grill! This is our 3rd one in 25 years. Contrary to what many think, it only costs eighteen cents (18c) per hour to operate (1600/1000 x11cents per hour) and you don't have to worry about running out of propane.

Perfection!

Simple, just used my own recipes and ran it on low setting to learn temp! My baby back ribs were perfect! Can't wait to try seafood and poultry.

I would buy this product again

You really have to learn how to cook on this grill. It will sear the food but you have to let it get hot on 3 with the lid down for 10-15 minutes before you start the sear. I also cook with the lid down. You just can't get enough heat when you don't have it down. I loved it once I understood how to use it. The HOA said no gas grills on the balcony so I had to go electric. I've had this one for 4 years and I take it apart and clean it every 3 or 4 months depending on how often I use it. Easy to take apart. Be careful and clean the burner holders well and carefully. That is the only thing that's broken so far and I used a piece of wire to fix it. Most likely my fault.

Good buy

I am so happy with my little electric grill. Great for seniors who want to grill but don’t like the mess of charcoal or propane tanks. Plug it in, warm it up and toss on the steak.

Great Electric Grill!

This is the 2nd Meco grill we have owned. We originally bought our first one when we lived in a condo and only electric grills were permitted on the decks. We now live in a house where any type of grill could be used but because we love the Meco so much, we bought a new one. We mainly grill chicken breasts, pork chops, hamburgers, turkey burgers, sausages, and steaks. The feature we really love is the fact that the meats stay nice and moist when cooked to our liking. Everything cooks fast and easy. It only takes less than ten minutes to get fully heated. Because it does such a great job grilling, we cannot justify spending tons more on a fancy gas or charcoal grill.

I love this grill. Fixed burgers several times. Delicious. Tried a bone-in Ribeye. Cooked meduim rare to perfection. Perfect for my apartment living.

Element Doesn't Last Long

Love the grill but the element doesn't last long. Purchased the grill August 2012, replaced the element May 2013 and it needs to be replaced again this year. Fortunately the first replacement was under warranty. Looking for an element only but this has been impossible, looks like I have to pay at least $50 for the element AND the control.
