It looks like this will be more of a spotlight --- which is exactly what we'll need.

Works fine, but build quality sub par

This lamp serves our purposes, especially with rechargeable batteries, and we like not having the cord in our living room, but the build quality is suspect at best, in other words the fit and finish a little bit lacking.

Good product

Provides good lighting with variable brightness. Handsome, easy to assemble, great price, and can even be set up at a reduced height with minimal effort and a little low-voltage electric cord splicing.

Thinking of buying another.

Convenient, this lamp uses 4 D batteries and also comes with a plug, if you want to plug it in. I bought this for my daughter to do homework with. The light is a pleasant daylight and even has an adjustable dimmer. What originally caught my eye, was that it was battery powered. We lose power at times, yet now won't be in the dark!
