Beautiful But…

This is a very attractive and solid shower base, HOWEVER be aware that you cannot use this with a completely frameless shower door system. The basin is not tapered/graded enough around the edges, it is just too flat, so water leaks onto the floor instead of flowing to the center drain. We purchased this for a bathroom remodel, and today had our shower door company come back and add an extra dam strip to the base in hopes this will solve this problem. Haven’t tried it out with this additional dam yet, so fingers crossed. Disappointing. Would not have purchased this basin if we had realized how absolutely flat it is. Seems to me like a design flaw. Obviously this could also not ever be used with a shower curtain (although I think that is actually specified in something I read from the manufacturer).

Shower pan Very heavy duty. If your looking for a solid heavy weight pan this one is it I’ve installed lots of shower pans but not like the Kohler ballast pan well worth the money and it has a low threshold only thing you have to now it’s heavy

Never Arrived in One Piece

Absolute terrible experience trying to purchase this item. 4 attempts to have one sent to the local store; each arrived broken to some degree. This experience has been extremely frustrating and I and struggling to understand how they can even offer the item for sale. I certainly would not recommend trying for yourself.

Could be good for wheelchair access.

Warped Shower Pan

After writing my original review about the warped shower pan, a rep from Kohler advised me to contact customer service. I have contacted them 3 times now with the same response that they will reach out to me in 3-5 days. Still waiting. Kohler is not only putting out defective products, but their customer service ignores your requests.

Arrived broken

Similar to other one-star reviews, the pan arrived chipped and cracked. I paid for home delivery, only to have to bring it back to the local Home Depot to return it. I ordered a replacement and am having it delivered to the store. I believe the issue to be poor packaging as there are a number of exposed areas that are prone to damage from shipping. I will update the rating if the replacement comes in good shape.

The shower base was exactly as described. It is constructed very well and fits perfect.

Pooling Around The Edges

We recently remodeled our entire home and this shower pan was the most regrettable purchase. The build quality seems good so far, but there is next to no slope, so all the water sits around the edge of the shower pan. What a headache.

Stay away from this product!

Unit looked nice, but was warped! Plumber checked it for level prior to installing. Didn't see warp until all the water ran out the front of unit. I wish I would have read the other reviews. As a contractor, I will not use Kohler again. This cost me as tile was installed. Cost for plumber to remove and install new, cost of tile setter to pull tile off and re-install, cost of upset customer delaying final payment. What a mess!

Nice and solid

I would have liked to had more information prior to purchase. Luckily it is solid, which was of most importance. But, I was surprised that there is no non-slip finish on it. Also the drain hole is not specified, so I purchase the wrong drain to go with it. Just another trip to the store that I was trying to avoid.

The shower base was fairly easy to install, even if you have to use leveling compound, because a mortar subfloor is not required. After 3 months the product has held up just fine.

The product is beautifully made and my experience with customer service when I came to pick it up was wonderful.

Warped. Drain higher than the edges.

Warped product. Not noticeable until installed. The center is nearly half an inch higher than the edges so the water pools around the perimeter. Tiled in bathroom and glass door and this darn thing is the lemon of the whole project. Love the look but that really stinks.

Great shower pan! Substantially built to last

Excellent quality--almost exactly what I wanted.

Good quality, great fit for my needs. I wanted a pan with a higher lip around the edges, and had to settle for this model, due to my size requirements. The quality is superb, it just is not exactly what I was looking for.

Worth the investment
