Defective sweat union fittings

One pair of fittings for sweat union were defective. The problem didn’t show up until after installation. Kohler quickly sent replacement parts do all is well. Check closely for indents along inside rims.

Water diverter won’t seal

Easy to install, when the water is diverted to the shower head, it leaks out of the tub filler. Brand new seals, not sure why it leaks

I bought Kohler because I have never been disappointed with their quality & I didn't want to ever have to replace it & unlikely to ever have to repair it.

No Trim Other than Chrome

The problem with this valve is that if you are doing a new installation and want to go 'old school' with the 3 valves, your only choice in trim is chrome (2 styles). The diverter on this valve is the button style, so you will not be able to interchange with other trims. If you want brushed nickel or anything else more current, you will not find the trim that fits this valve. This valve is meant only as a replacement to the older style and according to Kohler is strictly used in commercial settings and not residential.

As usual they changed the whole thing and I couldn’t get the handles for this item. Scrapped it and hired a plumber to repair mu showers I would not use Koehler products again.

So far so good with this valve system. I am still in the midst of my bathroom remodel, so not using it daily yet. I gave four stars because the first one I received was defective. When notified of the problem, Wayfair quickly got another out to me.

[Rewarded Review] Pleasant feel, saved my vintage tile

I'm so relieved to have found this part. Apparently these three-handled tub faucets are not fashionable anymore, and I was afraid I would have to do some patchwork on vintage tile. My plumber had to cut into the drywall behind the shower to install it, which was messy but preferable to tearing up tile. We paired it with the Kohler Triton trim in the retro square handled style. No leaks, but it's also a pleasant surprise how much nicer it is to use. Instead of turning the handle repeatedly, and squeakily, this one turns on full blast with just gentle, smooth quarter turn. If you must buy this to remedy a leak, know that the resulting feel is satisfying. I bought a mixer valve and transfer valve for another bathroom, and each of those valves cost more than this one triple unit.

The unit itself is well made. I'm not a fan of the water intake brass to brass unions on this. I'm not a professional plumber and was not able to torque the nuts tight enough without the assistance of some professional grade equipment. I have an old gas pipe wrench and a leg vise in my garage. I had to clamp the diverter into the vise and use my whole weight on the pipe wrench to make this drip free (I'm 200 lbs). If there is a different way to do it, Kohler doesn't explain it. Their instructions are better suited for someone who has a lot of familiarity with plumbing and not a normal homeowner like myself.
