It's nice, but Holy Guacamole this thing is loud!
Wow, I love this exhaust fan. Its quiet, does the job of sucking up and out moisture from the shower, smells and has a nice damper that hinders outside air coming in, but has no problem venting bathroom air to the outside.
Problems encountered
This was supposed to be a drop-in installation replacing a QTRN-110-B blower. The original opening is larger than what is now required.Installation instructions indicate angle brackets may be available, but ordering the parts is not straightforward.Pictorially it shows two brackets required, where actually FOUR separate brackets are required. In your store i ordered (2) 443546,unbeknownst to me each will be 98.5" long, now obviously requiring cutting into 4 pieces.{now i will have to return one of the 443546} Additionally.being a retrofit installation, the suggested mounting requires drilling mounting holes on the inside surface (no holes provided)
Works very well is quit and functional.
Cover is cheap and flimsy, cracked as soon as installed.

I replaced the 80 CFM model with this new 110 CFM model as my need for air moved increased with the new larger shower head.
Does the job basic but effective
Very quiet. Removes odors fast. So much better than cheap fans.
Works great, quiet and looks fresh and clean!
This fan was advertised with all the necessary information: sones, energy star rating, duct size, housing size and for an excellent price. Given its 110CFM, it can address a bathroom with 2 toilets.

This fan does not have brackets that are anchored into the ceiling joists and slide thru the housing. This housing is screwed directly to the joists which makes for an easier installation IMO. I was replacing a smaller fan do I needed to cut some sheetrock, but I was unable to position the housing where I could use the brackets at designed. I ended up bending one bracket 90 deg and screwing it to a joist. The other bracket is unattached to anything. I then put some screws thru the frame into the joists on two sides and it's very solid. The wiring is very straightforward, but they do not supply any wire nuts which is kind of annoying. I reused the nuts for the white and black wires, but the neutral had been connected to a screw in the previous housing, so I had to go dig up a wire nut to connect the ground. The fan pops in and out of the housing easily. I did have a heck of a time connecting my semi-rigid duct to the outlet. They are both exactly 4", so that ended up being the most aggravating part of the entire install. After I taped up the duct connection, I taped up the gaps between the sheetrock and the housing, installed the cover, and turned on the fan. It's not silent, but it's much quieter than the fan it replaced and not noticeable with any background noise at all. Pros: Easy installation - Screws directly to joists Easy fan removal/install into housing Fairly quiet Cost Cons: No wire nuts or any hardware at all (minor) Fan outlet is exactly 4" as the duct will be. 3.9 inches would have made a significant difference (minor)
This is great product!
Smooth sounding, easy to install, nice white color! Found this on the clearance rack so glad I grabbed it for our new house!
Wisper quiet and very powerful.
This fan is quiet, quiet, quiet. Did I mention how quiet it is? Could have bought a equally powerful fan for less money, this one is far superior. Will be replacing other bathroom fan with same model soon.

pretty straightforward installation. Broan does a good job of separating the motor from the housing so you can put the important stuff to the side while you put the box and vent in then simply pop the motor in and attach the internal plug. pretty quiet (you know it is running if you are a couple feet from it but you probably wouldn't hear it at a distance). did the 'kleenex test' at about 8". when farther away, the kleenex just fell to the ground. I like the grille (super white and you don't see the motor easily. good fan, easy install, looks nice, works great!

It's a nice fan, really it is. Quiet when running and nicely constructed. Unfortunately it has an internal flap that sounds like shutting a cabinet door a little too firmly. Any kind of outdoor breeze and the anti-backdraft flap, seemingly un-damped, is clanging. I have two of these professionally installed in a new house, and they both do it. It would have been nice if Broan could have added 5 cents worth of foam tape to quiet the flap.

I bought this to replace a cheap 50 cfm, 4 sone Broan fan (which was probably there just to meet code) that was also smaller in size than this one. Bathroom I put it in is about 90sqft Installation probably would have been easy if my house wasn’t almost 100 years old. The ceiling in our bathroom is drywall over plaster which made hooking up the vent attachment to the duct a little complicated since I had to remove plaster and the wood shims from the attic side without damaging the drywall below. The whole thing felt light to me, and two wood screws into the joist is all it needs to hold up. It moves air pretty well and it’s much quieter than the old piece of junk that was in there. For less than $80 this is a good buy. If you’re doing a retrofit like I did for an older, smaller fan, plan on spending another $10-15 to replace ducting and other parts that are not included that will need to be replaced as well.

This ventilation fan is doing it's job as described. According to Broan I didn't need this model, I could have gotten by with a smaller CFM rated fan, however that model was a few dollars more... My thought, lets go for the larger CFM rated model and save a few dollars. For those who say the fan is loud, I must have gotten yours or you ears are more sensitive. Mine is a bit louder than a whisper but quite acceptable. If the fan is running, I can barely hear it outside the bathroom.

Instructions should say "watch Youtube videos" - as the included instructions are worthless. Two design flaws IMO - (1) there should be clips to hold the housing to the drywall. (2) the cover retainer springs need a rethink - I had to bend the ends to make them work at all and they were very hard to install (and I've done this many times with other fans). On the plus side, the fan is quiet and moves the approximate rated air flow. I think the fan is over-priced - should be priced at about $50, not the nearly $80 when I purchased. It is possible to retrofit with a new fan motor once installed, but that is about the only advantage to the "in vent" system.

It's a decent fan, and the instructions are sufficient for DIY installers. But it is not quiet. In fact, the blower is clearly labeled as 1.3 sones, 30% louder than described here or in the Broan documentation. I was replacing my old 2.5 sone fan and expected half the noise. But I really can't tell any difference.
