Gorgeous range with many great features. Definitely a statement piece.
[Rewarded Review] DO NOT BUY
Been shorting out since ~1 mo after we got it. We thought it was our house's electric. After it got bad - can't even turn it on without breker tripping - we got an electrician to come out who told us it was the oven - no matter what circuit he plgged it into it tripped it. Owned it 25 months - just out of warranty, and it's kaput.
Don’t buy unless you want to deal with problems!
Do not purchase unless you want to have a tech come out multiple times. The oven will stop getting to temperature at any given time. We've had to repair it 6 times and now are in the process of fighting the warranty company to replace it.
hig power burner
high power burner, but I wish the high burner is in the middle,so the vent hood will work better sucking all the smoke
Too expensive to not last. Common issue w/this.
We purchased this $6000+ 36inch gas range in January 2021 (3.5 years). Oven has stopped heating and now we have a $500 repair and no oven to use for our family of 5 ($150 to diagnose it as the igniter and now $350 for Parts and Labor to repair, once the part comes in that is). We were told that it is only warranteed for 3 years so we are out of luck for the repair cost. To have an oven of this caliber that doesn't even heat after 3 years is disappointing and unacceptable in my opinion. Our previous oven was a fraction of the cost and was reliable for 15+ years until we decided to upgrade our kitchen. This problem seems to be epidemic with this particular model, why hasn't it been encumbant upon GE to fix this issue? Here is a link to one of the many posts I found with the same issue https://roomfortuesday.com/an-honest-review-of-the-ge-cafe-range/
Love it!
So happy with the range. It has so much power and flexibility and can handle anything. The grates are heavy so cleaning is a bit of a challenge but so worth the extra effort.
Another igniter failure. 5 weeks to get replaced.
Bake igniter failed in under a year. Arranged for warranty service. Service came out 1 week after call, in under 5 minutes said the igniter was bad. Parts are back ordered, can't get a replacement for 4 more weeks. That is 5 weeks without an oven. In the meantime the warranty continues to run. Looking on the internet this is a very common problem. Most fail every year. Some people even have multiple extras for when the igniter inevitably fails. If you can even find one available, it costs $80, not to mention service call if you are incapable of replacing yourself. Oh, and unlike most stoves, this model has to be moved to get access to the back to replace. Think I'm an unusual case ? Just look at the reviews for the cafe stove on this site. I'll bet half are problems with the igniter. And you know it will fail at the most inconvenient time. Ours failed preparing for a wedding. Buyer beware.
Beautiful and easy to use
I feel like a chef with this beautiful range and bake
[Rewarded Review] HORRIBLE DELIVERY - Rude delivery persons
Horrible delivery! Very rude and unprofessional delivery persons! I called Bestbuy to file claim and they only have one guy’s name on file, which is Jose. One guy told me the range won’t fit through my front door and won’t fit in my reserved kitchen spot. I was confused as we measured dimensions before we bought, then I was trying to figure out why he said it won’t fit. But he was not giving me opportunity to discuss, he said I was mad but I was not mad at all at that time. He wanted me to talk to his manager. Then he called his manager said “the door is 34”, the range is 36-1/4”, and the customer is mad”. After heard that, I was mad as he was telling inaccurate stories and has no good attitude to figure out. He walked away and refused to let me talk to his manager. I followed up and tried to figure out the range dimension: the range is 36” wide and 31” deep, and my door is 35” wide. Then I told them if you could rotate the range it could just go through my front door. Both of them were unhappy as I told them the truth. My sprinkler man just arrived at that time, they saw one man, one guy’s attitude changed a little bit, and they delivered the range to my house. But they delivered backwards. The other guy asked me to sign something, which showed “i received and was satisfied about the delivery”. I didn’t want to sign as I was not satisfied at all. He spoke in Spanish and told me “sign it and the range stay here, not sign they take them out” (my sprinkler guy translated for me) I have no choice but sign, when I was almost done, and still reading the document, that delivery guy robbed his phone, very rude. It seems like he didn’t want me see clearly what I signed. He was yelling to me. I felt so awful. I called Best Buy service, they asked me to provide feedback here so the management team can reach out to me for further discussion. I’m waiting for the call.
Oven limitations
We have had our 36” dual fuel for over a month and have been happy for the most part. The only issue that I’ve noticed is that the oven only goes by 25 degree increments. I bake a lot and sometimes a recipe will call for something like 390 for croissants. Luckily we have a separate wall oven that can accommodate different temperatures. Had I known this weird oven quirk I would have gone with a different manufacturer.
Like it a lot
Oven cooks evenly and the operation of burners is simple to control
Range
Great product, elegant touch to the kitchen, love the space
Great feature
This stove and oven work fantastically! Tons of space and the ability to cook many things at the same time. The oven is very spacious.
Great Looking Slide-In Range
I have this range in two homes! Absolutely love it. Not only because it looks awesome but it has great features for both baking and stove top.
Wonderful features - except for the Shabbos mode
Wonderful but very disappointed it did not come with Shabbos mode. Very. All new products that I’ve been buying for years have have it. But this beautiful amazing latest technological oven does not have Shabbos mode. I would not have purchased it had I known. The additional zmantech device I had to purchase to “make” it Shabbos mode is not the same .
Beautiful Range & Oven
I ordered the range/oven in matte white with copper handle and knobs. It is beautiful and works great! Range top is easy to clean. Oven is a nice size.
Issues with knobs
We have some concerns regarding the oven knobs on our Cafe appliance. Despite using the oven for less than three months and under careful use by adults only, we have encountered significant issues with the knobs—the plastic components have cracked on multiple units.
Perfect Gas Range
Really enjoying our new Cafe Gas Range. Burner layout and variety meet all our needs. The oven is flexible enough to meet all our needs. The steam self cleaning function sealed the deal for us.
