Not very bright

I got this for 18 dollars so it was a pretty good deal. Seems durable. Takes 4 D batteries, which seems like a lot. Even at the highest setting, the light isn't very bright though. It is good for seeing in the tent while getting ready for bed, but I don't think I could play board games at the picnic table with it.

Great latern…..

We bought this for our grandson in red. This is so cute. It will be used as a lamp in his room. Then we he gets older he can carry it with him to his camp sights.

CLASSIC 500L LANTERN

Nice Lantern. Was a bit larger than expected which is a plus. The build quality surprised me as well. I am glad I purchased this through a Coleman offer along with a few other items. The lighting is great for the inside of my Coleman Skylodge 12 as well as my truck topper. If I needed another battery powered light of this type I would not hesitate to purchase another one. This works great in areas where I can't use my fuel fired Coleman Lanterns or when I need fast light without having to fumble with matches in the middle of the night. No cooling down or fumes.

Awesome Lantern

I love that this runs on batteries instead of fuel. Very bright with several dimmer settings and a flashing light. Retro look with modern functionality - plus I got a great deal on it. Very satisfied!

500 L Coleman Lantern

This is probably the best camping lantern for its price point. It's light, sturdy and has multiple light settings for various situations. The bright setting is great for lighting up your walking path. Medium setting is great for a table lamp. Low is wonderful for inside your tent. And, the flash setting is greatvforca crisis or a disco party 😃

Defective lantern

Could not get lid to stay on. Batteries stick up. Light does not work. Trying to return it without paying postage.

adjustable illumination

very bright (on high), but not blinding on low - perfect for me as I don't like bright light when camping. The only drawback are the batteries as they are big and heavy ().

Handy Tent Lantern

I really like this lantern as it is a great size and lumens for being a tent-lantern. I really like that the handle can be unclipped to slide into a loop within the tent for hanging needs. One thing I do NOT care for is that there is NO marking next to the dial to designate the starting point of what light setting it is on. I ended up using a permanent marker to mark the start position--how cheap/understaffed is Coleman y'all couldn't bother to make a simple mark? That's why it gets four stars--I want to buy an item without having to make an improvement to it as that ought to have been thought out in the design phase.

Small but Bright

Nice Emergency Lantern for smaller spaces. Can be carried around easily from room to room. Not as bright as the bigger lanterns but give off a fair amount of light. Got these at a great price definitely worth the money.

Purchased with the 50% off coupon with another purchase. Low / Medium / High and Flash modes. Very bright for a small lantern...and the light looks like a traditional wick light, pretty neat. Price for the value is just so-so. Without 50% off - I don't think it would have been a good value. Batteries are NOT included.

NEW Coleman lantern

I like having the 3 brightness choices for tent camping. When you get up at night dim (1st level) is perfect. It is so much better that just on or off! I also like the handle / latch to hook it on to our tent or the rungs of the easy up.
