Best looking Grill and cart on the market

While I like the looks of the S series and it is a very high quality grill, the ceramic bricks are my least favourite feature. While they do promote nice even heat, they really make grilling anything with a little fat nearly impossible. Marbled ribeye and even Salmon both result in flare up city. This is the case no matter how clean I keep the bricks and trays. I would recommend the C series are Blaze over the S series for this reason.

Aesthetically very nice. Performance is good heats up fast and the sear works well. There are hot spots on the grill that cook faster that other areas so need to get to know the idiosyncrasies.

Excellent grill that delivers

Life every other grill nut, I own a collecdtion--a Kamado, a smoker, and a propane beauty. After years of happy service with nice grills from Broil King, it was time to step-up to a new product. Much research resulted in the Coyote S-line 36" freestanding. The freight delivery was straight-forward, and except for a few minor scratches that were compensated with a discount, the grill stand was an easy unpack and the grill installed in a few minutes. Coyote Outdoor Living is based in TX, but manufactures in China, which is very apparent from their woefully incomplete documentation. Common sense saved the day, and the grill installed as expected. Having read review after review of Premium and luxury grills that haven't solved the uneven heat problem, the great strength of this grill is that its heating elements/ceramic brick design results in controlled heat at all desired temperatures. The sear burner works as advertised and is a hot torch on our prime beef. But its the temperature control that I noticed the most. Even across the surface and front to back. It isn't an oven, of course, but it is far and away the best grill I've seen when it comes to heat distribution. So indirect cooking and controlled heat are a breeze. I haven't used the induction burner for rotisserie yet, but it's coming and hopefully will provide the same level of satisfaction. In terms of build quality--very solid, no hiccups in the item sent, although came with some loose bolts/nuts (4x2") that must serve a purpose but no obvious unfilling screw holes. The transformer for the halogen lights are nicely tucked under one shelf to protect from moisture. If there's one drawback, it is the cover--only meant to be used with the shelves folded down and is fitted, so a bit time consuming to use, but obviously a minor flaw in an otherwise excellent design.

Very high quality and just started using it. Amazing power and heat. Very heavy gauge stainless. Drop ins such as a griddle and charcoal tray make this an amazing buy.

Quality built in grill!

Coyote makes a great grill! This is the 2nd time we've install this grill in an outdoor kitchen. We newwe planned to go with another Coyote grill because of the qualtiy and durability of this product. Would highly recommend.

Cooks as good as it looks!

I've owned my Coyote 36" over a year now. I've owned different brands but the one I replaced was a Fire Magic. First, I believe BBQ Guys ratings for this grill are are very close to my experience. The quality of Coyote 36" S-Series is very good. The fact you get a RapidSear infrared burner at this price is amazing. I've cooked on some pretty cool nights and this grill has more than enough heat power. The ceramic briskets do a great job of taming flare-ups, no issue! It took a little time to get used to so much heat for cooking fish but once you realize set on low it's fine. Once flame tamers are removed griddle fits snuggly into place. We've had breakfast on the griddle which works great, or country potatoes. We had a party with 10 adults and 8 children, 875 Square Inch grill area was plenty of space to cook burgers and dogs. The RapidSear infrared burner really does resturaunt quality steaks leaving perfect grill marks. The burners are heavy duty, not cheap. The construction & attention to detail is excellent. There is a polished lid edge almost chrome looking similar to the handle. Looks really stunning specially at night! The knobs light up this beautiful orange making it easy to see what temp your cooking. The interior light is also bright to see how your cooking is going.We bought the Coyote side burner & BBQ doors as well. All are quality and my opinion as good as other high end brands. The side burner works great for steaming mussels and clams (without stinking up the house!) I looked at many brands to replace our old Fire Magic, including Lynx, Blaze, Lion, DCS and new models of Fire Magic.The Coyote S-Series 36" in my opinion is a better deal. Cooks great, build quality, attention to detail (polished edges), includes RapidSear and the value at this price point in other brands would cost you $1000!

Superb post-sales support from COYOTE

This review is primarily regarding after-sale customer support from COYOTE itself. My S-Series 36" 4-Burner w/RapidSear was a scratch and dent warehouse deal from BBQ Guys, and had some problems that arose from being sent the wrong propane-to-natural gas conversion kit - NOT Coyote's fault. However, Coyote's customer support turned out to be truly outstanding. Antoine, went above and beyond to find me solutions, including even Facetime-ing on the weekend, because that's when I could "meet". His understanding of intricacies of how the grill is designed to work is impressive, and quality of communication and follow through I received from him and Coyote are rare. On that basis alone, I know I made the right decision in choosing this brand.

So far Loving this Grill!

To be honest I was worried purchasing this grill. Several bad reviews on the net but they appeared to be for older models. Price/features were right so I bought it. Came w/ cover (very heavy) smoke box and griddle (also very heavy)! Burned off w/ all burners on high (except for the back burner). After 25mins the grill was crazy hot well above 700degrees. Front panel (metal behind knobs) got hot to the touch but knobs remained cool. Grates/griddle did not warp. Temp is even across the griddle and grates. All parts (except for door hinges and smoker box) didn't stick to magnet (I checked everything). It bugged me that in most pictures on the net the doors are uneven across the top. When I got the grill, same thing uneven doors. Quick adjustment and they're even...not sure why people marketing a grill wouldn't have spent the time to do that?Cart is solid. Slide out tray for the LP canister works well. Drip pan has casters-nice touch-smoothly moves in/out. Wheels are hard plastic and easy to secure. All wheels swivel which I like b/c it makes moving the grill easier. My last grill has two wheels locked in one direction...much harder to move around. The not so Good: Instructions for set up are poor-online video helps. There is a box that the transformer for the lights goes in. The metal box that surrounds the transformer has two holes one for the cord that plugs into the grill and the other to a cord that goes out to electrical outlet. The cord from the grill to the transformer is fixed (pull it apart) the cord going to outlet can be removed. I would like to remove it when I am not using the grill so I don't have to find a place to tuck it in but the box holes are too small (see pic)...I'll need to drill out a wider hole. Biggest complaint is the griddle doesn't work with the grates (big gap-see pics) but can put griddle on top of grates (see pic) & close lid-thus four stars. All-in-all very happy with this grill!
