The Hans Grohe Chroma Shower fixture is nothing less than Amazing. The installation was straightforward, and easy to set with the rough out. Once the tile was set, trimmed the plastic collar and set the escutcheon. I did have to take the escutcheon back off to adjust the hot water tolerance, but was a quick adjustment to perfection. The pressure is not too strong, but it definitely is not ‘weak’ stream. It’s…well…perfect. I couldn’t be happier. The installation took about an hour once the old fixture was out, then we tiled the rest before threading the GIANT chrome shower head. This is a very nice shower set, it is just not nearly as nice as a true Grohe set. I have heard good things about the Hansgrohe "budget" line recently. This does not disappoint, although it is noticeably not as nice as a regular Grohe set if you compare them side by side (this probably does not come across clearly in photos). The finish on this set just isn't as nice as the original Grohe, and it is not as easy to clean. That being said, I think this still looks great. The shower head on this set actually has an all metal base, as compared to the plastic base on some of the newer Grohe sets! The trim faceplate on this set is plastic, but the control knob is metal. I prefer it this way as opposed to the other way around (plastic knob, metal trim plate) as found on some of the newer Grohe sets. As I mentioned, the finish looks great right now -- time will tell how well it holds up, especially on the plastic pieces. This is a complete shower kit, so it includes everything except the piping. You do not need to purchase a separate rough in box, or anything like that. In summary, the price is definitely less than a comparable Grohe set, although the quality definitely feels inferior (very slightly so, most noticeable when comparing side by side).

This thing looks and feels like a million bucks. It's a very simple, minimalist design, but everything you'd expect from German engineers - precision casting, meticulous attention to every detail. I don't have any other hansgrohe fixtures in the bathroom, but I'm updating the sink faucet and vanity to a modern, minimalist chrome, and it matches just fine. One thing that really drew me to the hansgrohe units was the quick clean shower head, just give the little silicone nubs a quick wipe, no scaling buildup to worry about. To be clear, you need ample access behind the shower to install these components. This is really intended for new installs, or it assumes you have very clear access behind the wall. Every item comes in its own box with separate instructions, makes it easy to sort out during install. This was a bit different than any previous install I've done, everything was off just a little bit (like requiring different sized Allen wrenches), and I can't recall the last time I've actually had to read the instructions for a bath fixture LOL. Some of that was because I've never installed a pressure balance mechanism before. But it turned out fine, eventually everything made sense. Very impressed with every component from start to finish. Well built, durable, the handles work smoothly, I'm certain this will last decades. One concern was the lead warning, with no explanation. The US limits lead to 0.25%, but I think California wants a warning unless it's 100% lead-free. I searched their web site, manuals, and other documentation and couldn't find any statement on lead. I'm not drinking it, so not too worried.

I love the look of it. Nice and simple and design. I actually had my contractor install it as I was in the middle of a renovation. He said he just watched some videos and figured out how to adjust the piping accordingly. So I can't speak to how hard it was to install. Overall, however I recommend it.

I do like this all in one kit as compared to buying the rough-in and trim separately. This is especially useful for renovations where you are replacing existing tub/shower fixtures. This Chroma Complete is a simple and attractive design. It is easy to wipe down and keep clean. The chrome finish is uniform and flawless. I really like the looks of it for modern and classic bathroom designs. The separate temperature control knob is nice for being able to set it and forget it. You can leave it at your preferred temperature and just turn on the water and wait for it to get up to temp. It doesn't take long with the full flow of water out the tub spout. Then you can activate the diverter for a shower or close the drain for a bath. The larger water flow control knob allows you to turn to full flow or set it back to conserve water. It is easy to use even when showering and it being positioned at tub height. If you get the one with the tub spout you can opt to not use the spout and have a shower with a separate temperature and flow handles arrangement, which is nice. 5 stars for excellent quality and finish.

I really like that this is a full set, rather than just the showerhead and/or controls! This Hansgrohe set is good quality and well built and designed. I was a little skeptical at first because the trim plate is plastic instead of metal, so I was concerned that might lower the standard of quality a bit. But I have found the plastic portions very solid and durable feeling, so it does make sense on the hygiene and cleaning side! The fixtures are fairly easy to install. If you are at all handy, it’s not one of the sets that you should need to have someone else come in and do for you. The design is simple, so it goes with pretty much any styling, I think. I also like the extra spacing on the showerhead arm to allow for some room away from the wall for showering!
