Dewalt heavy duty rack

Best price (including shipping) I could find online for these outstanding racks, which are easy to assemble and built like a tank. Excellent delivery, neatly left on a wooden pallet in front of my garage. I already have several of this racks, both in my garage and basement but wanted to replace some plastic shelving units with sturdier ones. A+++

The best feature of the DeWalt shelving unit is it is very simple to assemble. I’ve had them for a few weeks, however these are my second set because I sold my first set due to moving from one state to another. They are above my expectations because of the weight that they hold. When they arrived there was no shipping, damages or delivery issues.

The shelves are awesome. We’ve had the shelves a few weeks now. We have heavy bins and the shelves handle them very good. The only thing I did not care for was the clips to hold the shelves in place. I bought black zip ties to use instead of the clips and they were a lot easier to use. I would highly recommend these shelves.

Look at the model number. If it has a letter X in the model number, it is made by an inferior company that is stealing the DeWalt name and is somehow getting away with it. I bought a 24" shop fan from this company and it quit working within days and the DeWalt service center will not repair it. The lady in the repair shop mentioned the X in the model number so I checked and sure enough, it's not a true DeWalt product.

Super strong and sturdy, I use it my office to store office supplies with the pegboard. I wish you could buy just more of the composite shelves. Nothing some mdf can't fix. These are totally great. Seems expensive until you start looking at equivalent racks. And I really wanted the shelves to be 24in deep which this is.

Solid Equipment; Easy to Assemble

The storage shelves are very solid and will accommodate considerable volume and weight. Relatively easy to assemble. It would be nice if they were a little taller since there is not 2' of vertical space between the shelves if they are evenly distributed. Still, well worth the money and effort. Be aware that the package is extremely heavy. The individual parts are pretty manageable once the box is opened.

For those who want a very sturdy well designed rack should consider the DeWalt storage racks. I was looking for a system that was well designed with the extra details like reinforcements for each shelve and the plastic caps on the feet and some of the connection points. The packaging was also very impressive. One of my rails had a defect, so I contacted DeWalt and they promptly sent me a replacement rail. There are cheaper racks out there but if you are looking for quality and need a rack that carries significant amount of load I recommend the DeWalt racks.

Great Shelving!

Took the shelving out of the box and was impressed with the quality. Initial assembly went slow, but once I got the first shelf and sides attached, it took no time and looks great. I ordered this shelving to store emergency supplies, food, and water. I must have 2500-3000 lbs of supplies safely stored on these shelves. I am planning to purchase one of the smaller shelves in the future. Great product and would buy again!

Overpriced thin metal. Made in China.

These shelves are very thin metal not worthy of the "industrial" shelving claim. The metal is so thin you that it easily twists without all of the added support bars supplied. It's just overpriced junk.

These shelves are very sturdy, and have good safety features to prevent collapse/tipping. If you buy multiple, you can connect them together using the shelves. I got 3 of these units and have them set up as 4 units with 3 shelves each. The solid shelf is made of sturdy plastic, which in my opinion is better than particle board since it won't soak up any moisture. The other shelves are heavy gauge wire with steel supports that prevent sagging. Powder coat on the units I received looks very good. It helps if you have 2 people putting these together. but you could do it with one person, just lean against a wall and put in your back rails first. Overall happy with these.

This shelving unit is heavy duty and it is extremely sturdy! I was able to assemble it by myself in about 45 minutes, however for beginner DIY’ers I would suggest 2 people for assembly. The instruction booklet was vague in the area of cosmetic component which is a plastic cover on diagonal connection points at the rear main supports. The plastic covers are directional, meaning left or right side, and they need to be put on when the connections are made. Other than that it is a great product and Home Depot’s price beat other outlets for this Dewalt unit and other shelving manufacturers for very similar units. I’m a Dewalt guy, but just like the many other Dewalt tools I own, this one is quality and function designed.

Rugged Shelving

I knew from past experience that I didn't want the typical flimsy grey utility shelving that seems to be offered everywhere. After researching and comparing I decided to buy this unit and am very satisfied with my choice. These DeWalt shelves are indeed industrial grade, well designed, and constructed. Everything needed to complete the assembly is included. I put it together solo without any problems, but an extra pair of hands always helps. These shelves are heavy, so I recommend assembling them in the location where they will be used. I appreciated the little extras in the design like, straps under each shelf to keep things from twisting, and the simple DeWalt logo keeper pins that ensure the shelves can't be jostled loose from their mounts.

These shelves are simply the most wonderfully elegant job of engineering a high quality industrial strength shelf unit I have ever seen. They appeared to take the shortcomings of every other shelf unit on the market and make it their priority to solve those problems. These units are stunning. My hat's off to the team to designed these and who build them daily. There is obvious attention to detail and quality - every part is optimized for a better user experience. I just don't know how to say enough good things. I ordered six of them - every one was first class quality. Every one was complete. I will buy more - these guys and gals are good! If you are about to buy shelves and are considering something else - just note that eventually you will encounter the cheap parts and poor engineering and you will regret the decision with any other shelf units (and I own a number of them. :( ) - congrats and thanks to DeWalt - this is the best unit on the market in my opinion.

I specifically purchased two of these units because they are one of the few shelving units that come with protective feet, which was an important consideration of mine, wanting to protect the epoxy garage floor coating. These also have some significant strength and safety upgrades from most shelving units of the type. There are drop-in cross braces for the top of each shelf, as with other brands, but there are also braces for the bottom of each shelf that attach with provided screws, which prevents the shelf from 'splaying' out if overloaded. There are also little keepers that prevent the shelves from becoming loose and detaching from the uprights. Overall, the quality of materials, the easy-to-follow directions (if a bit tiny to read for my aging eyes) and the sturdiness are impressive. I only wish there was an option between all melamine or all mesh shelves, as well as more models in the range.

This is a very nicely built shelving unit. Well worth the money. Took a little longer than I thought to put it together but, it went together ok. There are couple things the directions (in very small print) don't tell you but, if you take your time and read the directions however, you will figure it out. Just finished putting it together and putting a ton of stuff on it. I literally mean a ton. I'm guessing 2000 to 2500 lbs. at a minimum. Not even stressing the shelving unit. Glad I bought it. If you have exceptionally heavy things to store, I recommend it highly!

Finally, a shelf that is well engineered to handle lots of weight without buckling or falling apart! The last shelf I purchased from another manufacture was so badly designed that it literally fell apart as a result of badly designed "shelf clips" that fell out allowing the front and rear support beams to separate and the shelf to drop through. Not these shelves! They have not one but two "spanners" keeping the front and rear beams from twisting or separating. In addition, the shelves sit right on top of the upper spanners so they do not bow under heavy load. I love the fact that they include one solid shelf for things that require a flat surface for storage. In my case, it was perfect for my wife's home canned goods as all that glass and liquid can get pretty heavy. Even DeWalt's mesh shelves have a much tighter mesh than other manufacture's shelves and are better suited for smaller objects. Yes, these shelves are a bit pricy but they are at a MUCH different level than the less expensive "heavy Duty" shelves. They are well worth the money. The paper instructions are not the best. However, DeWalt has a video on their Website (https://dewaltshelving.com/assembly-help) that helps to clarify the paper documentation. It is important to note that DeWalt's shelf line is very modular in its design, allowing for flexibility and the addition of accessories.

I usually do not write reviews or rate products. However, I was so impressed with this rack that I decided to take the time to write a review. Part of my career was spent managing a distribution center for a major computer manufacturer. So I have experience with commercial quality storage racks. This rack arrived in a timely manner. It was not damaged, like a different rack I previously ordered. All materials are very high quality. It was easy to assemble with the Allen wrench provided. Well designed and very sturdy. I like the three wire rack and one solid shelves. You can adjust them to any height. I also like the fact that it includes a bracket to fasten it to the wall. Now, when my grandkids climb on it, it can’t fall on top of them. Don’t waste your time with cheaper alternatives. You get what you pay for.

The design is good, but the manufacturing must have been contracted out to some EV company because it’s terrible. I went through three DXST 4500-W until I received one that had components that were mostly square, straight, and had holes not filled with paint over spray. Now I’m dealing with the DXST 10000 (one of the U-bracket is not correctly welded to the vertical beam). Maybe Dewalt should test fit their shelving units before shipping them.
