Dial purge pump

Using a purge pump on the swamp cooler is a good idea, although I’d like to be able to adjust the duration of the purge and the interval when it comes on. It would be fair considering the price it is now selling for.

Look like it was repackaged. Then when I open it, look like there was missing parts and used. After installation, it did not work.

High water bill

First pump wouldn't purge; dead. Exchanged. Second pump: after a $300 water bill, I discovered the pump was constantly flowing/purging - not the 7 minute purge every 8 hours that it's supposed to do. Junk.

I found the unit to be simple to install and use EXCEPT for the fact that my evaporator has no provision for draining the pan to a hose or pipe. if you remove the overflow pipe, it dumps on the roof around and under the evap unit.unit. This weekend I’m going to try drilling a couple of holes in the evap pan, and attaching small faucet (garden hose outlet threads). It has a round flange that I can attach under the pan. I created a gasket that will go between the flange and the pan bottom.

Was Recommended this pump by the website and employees for my MCP44 cooler, it wouldn’t even plug into my cooler, as a matter of fact none of the pumps recommended had the right specifications for my cooler I had to figure it out myself.

Works as described.

Works well. Not a common device, but very useful.

Should be included in a cooler at purchase time. Perhaps cooler manufacturers don't want the collers to last too long.

I always recommend installing one of these when installing a new cooler. I am convinced it will make the cooler more efficient and last longer. It also extends the life of the media.

Worked fine for 3 weeks

Worked well for 3 weeks as advertised. Emptied water every 8 hours and the house was below 60! then, today I noticed the house was getting hot. I also noticed that the pump wouldn’t shut off. I’ll just have to get another one.
