DID NOT LAST ONE YEAR !!!! TOTAL WASTE

It is 1 year 2 months old; I am not able to get support for this product from Home Depot nor from Rheem (the manufacture.) once installed your on you own !!! All it is at this point is a ornament setting on top of the hot water heater. I have Called just normal plumbers and all say the same "we know nothing about them" except how to install and take your money.

This is a 5 star water heater, Sold by a 2 star customer service company (HomeDepot) , using a Zero star courier (FedEX).

thank you very much, everything went smoothly. when I opened it there was water in the inlet and the outlet but I assume that is from testing. I'm very grateful for that because this one works perfect. I'm replacing an old one of the same brand make and model. so mine burned out around Christmas time and for the past month's time it has been order return rate wait for refund order return wait for refund till I found yours. I received exactly what I ordered it worked perfectly it was basically Plug and Play because I was replacing one of the same. you have no idea how grateful I am.

This is my second one. My first was installed in 2019 and died this past December. It wouldn't stay on. Since I'm selling my mini house, I went with the same unit since it had the wiring needed already there (the units sell parts separately.) It heats up well and you don't run out with long showers. I'm not sure how well they work with a larger home. Mine is 504 sq ft.

Does the job

Installed mine August 2017, two full baths and a kitchen; water was hot enough for both showers running at the same time. Lasted a little over 5 years before starting to give problems (gets hot but doesn't stay hot; drops down to bearable tepid or sometimes to absolutely cold). Three stars instead of four because I'd expect it to last more than 5 years and, furthermore, can't find any repair manuals or parts lists online.

Great alternative to tank water heaters

Our old tank water heater was so far away from most of our taps we had to run the water for minutes before it got hot. We replaced the old water heater with two of these and a smaller one. Now we get hot water right away and are no longer wasting propane to keep 40 gallons of water hot all the time.

Overall I am very happy with this product. It works great and I appreciate having hot water instantly. I put it on the hot water side of the kitchen sink so I wouldn't have to wait 10 minutes for the water to get hot. My only issue is that during installation I needed to reduce the 3/4in inlet fitting. I first used the 1/2in reducer that came in the box and it leaked. I bought a 3/4 to 3/8in reducer and that leaked also. I finally had to put excessive amounts of plumbers tape and putty to stop the leakage. I think there may be a manufacturing issue with the sizing of the inlet connection as the reducers were actually loose on the fitting.

Durable heater

This will be the second unit I have owned. I had the same model for 5 years with no issues. It even worked for 5 days after my home was flooded. I can't fault the unit for flood damage.

Incessantly breaks.

In the 4-5 years I have had this unit, I have replaced 4 heating elements, 2 thermistors, the motherboard, and am now having an issue with it heating when the unit is off - which caused it to rupture the supply line on the hot side and flood the bathroom. Had I not been home, I fear not only the water damage would have been catastrophic, but the unit may have caught fire from running at full capacity for however long until I returned home.

Easy to install, works great. We have it in a studio for one person and it supplies plenty of hot water for the tenant with no problems at all. Make sure you have enough electrical power coming to it so it works properly, meaning the size of the breaker in your electrical box. Many other appliances take more watts to run than you may think.

Great little hot water heater

I have had mine for 7 years now and totally love it. It does my hole house. Can use teo showers at the same time. It was a replacement of a 50 gal tank. This takes up no floor space and a littlw space on the wall.
