Retro Style

We wanted something with a classic style and it was hard to find a large cylinder for the retro mid-century look we wanted for our Tucson home. The build quality on these is great and with the simple incandescent "guts" it will be easy to fine tune the lamping for the up/down mix i want to light the wood ceiling in our entry and yet not blast the ground. The pictures I have included are using a GE BR30 (from Lowe's) with about 650 lumens. Note that the upper lamp is closer to the aperture than the lower lamp and then you get different spread.

Great light. The only negative is the lens cover...

Great light. The only negative is the lens cover for outdoor installations is an extra $25. Seems like it should come with this. Otherwise it could only be used in applications where it is covered from the elements.

Beautiful but poor quality control

While I love the look and illumination of these lights, out of 14 we ordered two failed ( burnt out electronics) within three months or less of installation. To date, I have not been able to get a refund for the two defective lights, so I am unable to recommend them to others.

I love the look of these cylinder lights on our midcentury modern home! They shed just the right amount of light to enhance our entryway to both the house and the garage.

Modern Update for Stairway Lighting

Works great and looks great (love the two-tone style). Wonderful update to the more traditional style light fixture that I previously had in the stairway leading to our finished basement. My husband installed it himself without any particular difficulty (and there are often difficulties when installing light fixtures, we have found).

Love these lights, look classy on my house and blend in, but provide excellent lighting. We've had these on my home now for 5 years, and just bought some more to put on an addition that we built. Have had zero issues with rust (and I live just .1 miles from beach front and on a canal).

Lights outside

This light is a great outdoor accent with the perfec amount of light. We wanted a light that light up a wall and our deck. This light is perfect. Very well made, easy to install, good size for a large wall, fast delivery and with Houzz you can rest assured that all will be perfect.

Perfect for our use

We purchased two of these "up down" lights to use on our log home. The "up" beautifully illuminates the roof overhang and the "down" casts a useful light onto the deck. Both create shadows of the logs which makes it all the more dramatic. We are particularly pleased to have used dimable LED bulbs which give us total control over the light. The lights are rather plain and don't draw attention to themselves during the day which is what we wanted.
