The door was installed two weeks ago. The door is a nice heavy weight and rolls easily from the outside, but to get out from the inside of the shower, I have to just push on the glass to open. The side with handles needs to be near the shower head to minimize leakage and getting out that side is next to our toilet. The gap between the two doors is a potential leak problem. I have a problem with leakage over the edge of the bottom frame if water is directed to the glass. The coating on the glass keeps water from spotting. The door was professionally installed over a shower base that was part of newly constructed home. Overall I am disappointed in the way it functioned.

Very nice product. Sturdy glass and very attractive. Just finished the installation. It was the finishing touch to our bathroom remodel. Love it!

Shower door

Chastity is the best thing to happen to Lowes, she actually cares about her customers, which cannot be said about a lot of the other Lowes employees

Nice door lengthy install time.

Time consuming install with all the silicone applied pieces. Should be 3M peel and stick

Good shower door ...fairly easy DIY

The Glass is heavy 5/16..but any one with moderate strength can handle the panels as long as you have suction cup lifters...on the 44-48 size the glass panels probably weigh about 50 lbs or so each...but extreme care is needed ....only 7 holes to driil through tile and threshold....probably the most nerve racking part...you need to be perfect at measuring..a mitersaw with soft metal blade very handy to cut the top and bottom rail..my bottom threshold was 6 inches wide so i have zero leakage, ( see picture)...check your glass width befor starting..the directions are universal and dont tell you how wide your panels should be,,HOME DEPOT sent me panels for a 60 inch..they were about 31 inch wide each...should have been 25 or so for my shower width that was 46 1/4 inches...was big hassle and about 2 week delay as I didnt figure this out until I was 90% done with install... a laser level is handy to get the side rails perfectly plumb...My suggestions.. 1)only lightly caulk the bottom rail and center guide until you have hung the glass...you may need minor adjustment to get the glass to slide and hit the end brackets correctly..then caulk the inside and outside of bottom rail..I had to tear out and redo...2) the side rails are only caulked to the side walls so use the GE advanced silicone as shown in picture..takes about 5 days to fully cure but has rock solid adhesion..expensive but worth it !!!! ALL IN ALL we are well satisfied with the quality and the look..If you can measure accurately and lift 50 LBS you can do this yourself IMHO....not letting me add pictures>>>>

Nice door, good overlap between doors so water won't get out, easy to clean so far. Only downside is that we could use another handle inside the shower door. If you get in and out from one side only, the handle/towel rack is only on one side. Second issue is the frame/bar on top; I didn't realize from pictures that there's a gap between the glass door and that top bar. Time will tell if that will be hard to clean or have mold, etc. For now, it looks and feels nice though.

Instructions could have been more clear on drill hole height and depth from wall but was able to self install. So far really enjoy this door.

the new shower doors make the bath look much larger and add an air of sophistication. By following the detailed directions, the doors were easy to install. The doors glide wonderfully. I am very pleased with the overall look and would definitely recommend them.

Good Product-Long Shipping Time

This seems like a very nice door. The color of the chrome looks nice and not cheap. The only complaint was that it took longer than expected to receive this item. That is why I gave t 4 stars.

Simple Elegance

The Dreamline Essence doors are of significantly better quality than the Kohler doors I had to throw out after only 3 years of use. I love the simple, clean design that makes them very easy to keep clean and free of unsightly buildups. Installation was fairly simple, but I do have a significant amount of water on the floor after use. Will need to play around with this to determine the root causes, but in all I am pleased with my purchase. Glass doors are heavy so it is helpful to have a suction glass handle that is rated for 100 pounds or more to ease in installation.

1 Star

I bought a similar product with glass doors that are identical to this one. I may have given it a 5 because it looked great. Now, about 6 years later, it has small cracks everywhere I stand. Now I have to take out the glass door, rip out the bottom layer of tiles, rip out the shower pan and replace everything. That is IF I can find tiles that exactly match! A huge expense...

The frame isn’t pre-drilled for screws to attach the door unit to the walls. Are they that cheap?

[Rewarded Review] Excellent buy

I saved a lot on this upscale model and am not at all disappointed in the quality and style it adds to my new masterbath. And my installer picked it up for me (free shipping!) and installed it without incident quick and efficiently and also at a great price. Couldn't be happier.

Great shower door but does leak through

Shower door is beautiful and slides worked well. Only downside I notice is that the strip they give you for the door to not slam into the wall comes off easily which is very annoying. Also after each shower, we have to wipe off the outside of the shower area because there is always water seeping through. Shower door should include door seal that goes directly onto the glass as one side of the door has way too much space for water to seep through. There should also be seal between the door like other shower doors I've seen. Besides the small water leaks, its a great door.
