Does the job

It solved a slow drain issue from a shower after a remodel. It does what it is needed for. I liked this unit because it was made from solid brass, and looks to be of high end quality.

Many cities require these to be installed between the lookout nipple on the wall of the shower and the hand-held shower head. You simply screw the fitting onto the hose and then screw this combination onto the connection at the wall. This prevents any water or any other liquid (I.E. chemicals that might be in a bucket, etc.) from getting sucked back into the water supply if the hand-held shower head were to be immersed in something bad and someone creates a suction on a lower level of the home. This is priced about right, and is good quality. Even if it's not required by code, not a bad idea to install one on your hand-held shower heads.

Works like a charm and easy to install on my existing Hansgrohe hand shower assembly. It was the exact replacement to my old external vacuum breaker.

Just the right part

Replacement for an aged part. Does the job.

Great product

Works great when new but by no fault of the product my hard water takes it's toll. This External Vacuum Breaker clogs and leaks after 12 months. It would be terrific if I could purchase replacement internal washers and screens.

Leaks within one year

I have been using two of this at our bathrooms. They started leaking at about 8 months due to a rip on disk like rubber parts. A good thing is that Hansgrohe replaced them free when I wrote a mail to them. Bad thing is that they do not sell a repair parts for this. So, after warranty expires, you need to buy a whole new parts.
