So far so good!!

It is too early to assess the soil making capabilities as have only had the HOTFROG for a month. Adding compost is very easy through the sliding door. Turning requires a strong pair of arms. My wife cannot manage it. So, far we are impressed with the concept and convenience. Time will tell how easy it is to empty when the time comes. We have been using conventional square plastic compost bins for many, many years. We have placed the HOTFROG in an area where visiting bears cannot access it.

Composting is an important way to be more efficient with the resources we need to feed the people of the world, and the hot frog composter is fabulous for individuals and schools to easily start on a path to better waste management.

Easy to set up and tumble. Just need to remember to turn every day.

I have two of them and like them

I wish they sold the lid separately so I could reorder. But I like them, when one is filled and composting, i fill the other.

Difficult to turn

Good compost if you're trying to avoid mice/rats getting in but not much ventilation and very hard to turn composter. Needs to be turned each time to keep door underneath if you are trying to prevent access for bears and racoons.

Impossible to turn the drum!!

Spinning this tumbler (1/3 full) is a nightmare. I have to expend a lot of energy - both hands & 1 foot - just to get 1 turn out of the tumbler. No easy spin like my 1st tumbler (a different brand).

Great composter

Nothing to rust, big enough for a neighborhood garbage reduction system like the one Los Angeles is requiring every household to have.

Not that easy to get rolling. Comes off the stand easily as well. Low to the ground so not ideal either.

Sweet little composter

Good value for the price. It's a nice compact design, easy to assemble and use. It's actually an attractive design, which is not something I think of in composters. If it had a handle to help rotate it, I would give it 5 stars. But to be fair, that might not be possible in this price range.

Good simple concept but hard to turn

Composter is only secure from wildlife when the opening is at the bottom but this composter is very hard to turn. For some reason, the holds are not in line, making it even harder.

Very Poor Design-Very Hard to Tumble, poor drainage

Nearly impossible to tumble, especially compared with other serious composters. No drainage, so it gets too wet inside. It is better to save your money and buy a composter that works well
