Works with securemount anchor

I tried to change a previous review, but it can't be done. I said "Does NOT work 1 securemount anchor and 1 stud". I had the wrong product. I meant to buy the moen grab bar, but they weren't in store. I do believe an actual moen does have the proper flange configuration to use the securemount over a stud.

The holes in the grab bar flange do not work for mounting one end into a stud and the other end with a securemount anchor. The holes are not elongated in the plate like they need to be as it says in the installation instructions of the securemount anchors. I am confident it would work well with both ends in studs (good luck for 36") or both ends in drywall.

My safety bar was all bent up. It had already been used and installed and brought back to the store. You resold it to me!

What an amazing difference these made. I have one positioned vertically near the edge of the tub and the other horizontally along the back wall of the tub. I can get in AND out of the tub while standing securely upright PLUS I can maintain contact while showering. I feel safer than ever. knowing I can easily grab on if I feel I'm losing my balance.

Sturdy. The carpenter said easy to install.

Bar itself is great, but the screws to secure it are horrible. By that I mean they strip easily, in fact, every time.

Moen 36" Bathtub Shower Grab Bar Peened finish

Very good quality material and fabrication. This diameter bar is good for small to medium size hands and the peened finish offers a reassuring tactile feel. Not decorative but has a solid, functional look. For a satisfying installation you MUST use correct, sturdy anchors and fasteners (screws) which may or may not be among those included in the box. Use the suggestions found in the instructions and then you'll be happy.

The grab bars have been up for about a month now and have been a good purchase so far. They look good, and are doing the job, which is to make me feel more secure in the shower as I get older. Interestingly, my grown son said he had wished for grab bars in that shower, too. Our handyman installed them in a tile shower in less than a half hour, and said they were very easy to work with. And the price was very reasonable. Very satisfied with this purchase.

The 36" grab bar is the perfect length for our shower. My husband is able to safely walk into the shower without fear of falling. I recommend the peened finish for everyone. It helps keep hands from slipping on the bar.

A very sturdy robust product. With a large diameter tube, it is perfect for a big person. The slight knurling makes for non-slip grasp. When installed properly, it a VERY sturdy grab bar.

The Moen grab-bar might not be the most elegant-looking grab bar but it might be the best, due especially to the texture that aids with grip in even soapy hands. I had it installed by a professional, since drilling through tile and using anchors is beyond me, and it is very important that the bar be correctly installed either into a stud or using anchors. I am very happy with the bars. I had them installed in my bathrooms (using the installer's anchors) as well as in my brother's bathroom; in his bathroom we used the Moen anchors that I purchased separately. Both seem to work well.

This shower bar is very stable when mounted through the shower stall into the 2 x 4's behind the shower wall. Complete instructions are provided to properly mount the bar. I love the length and the knurled surface of this bar as it provides a great grip. Mine is mounted at a 45 degree angle and makes showering and moving around in the shower very safe. Mounting hardware is included.

I actually used this outdoors. I have a wooden railing on my front porch which was difficult for my husband to GRIP securely (he has mobility problems) I mounted the 48" grab bar on top of the wooden and now he and I feel that his grip will be more secure. Guests like it as well. Especially when the porch and stairs get icy, people will have something to grab onto.
